Covering the MMP

I ran to the grocery store and I brought back sushi for lunch - yum. While I was eating, my daughter called - her last day of school is May 31, and her elopement is June 30. Her roomie/landlady got her notary, so she’ll officiate, and there will just be the 2 witnesses there. No guests, no party, no fuss. Kinda like what we did, except our witnesses were total strangers.

I need to call my mom now. FCD is on my phone, so I guess I’ll grab his.

Anisakaisis
I hope I spelled that correctly.

Dining room table = done! Huzzah! As a reward, I found a check from our old mortgage company, a settlement check from a class action lawsuit against a mortgage company from 10 years ago, and yet another settlement check from a car accident 2 years ago.

Taking a quick break and then it’s off for more things.

Evenin’ all.

Just had some entertaining street drama chez Filbert. I was in the kitchen, and heard a lot of barking and suddenly a kitty appeared out of nowhere and shot up a telecom pole on the street out by the back yahd, right up to the top. On watching, it became apparent that kitty had not really thought things through, and had no plan how to get down. After about 20 minutes, during which time it got mobbed by local magpies and crows, it became apparent that kitty wasn’t coming down by itself.

Getting the daft thing down turned into an hour and a half drama involving my landlord (who did most of the climbing), more neighbours than I have ever met before here, 4 separate ladders and a gaggle of local children who kept loudly whispering stuff like “He’s gonna FALL!!” at each other. Really quite entertaining.

No clue whose cat it was, it’s annoyingly standard round here for kitties to be indoor/outdoor (we have no real predators after all) and no-one thought they’d seen it here before. It just bolted off over the garage roof in the end.

Dennis the orange tomcat climbed a dead, limbless tree to the top and cried out for rescue. Placing a bowl of cat food on the ground for the other cats, I went inside for two minutes to see what I could do to effect a rescue. When I cam back outside, he had his face buried in the food bowl.

Howdy Y’all! Today I deheathenated, had a good N.O.L., visitated with JDD’s ‘rents, his sister, and one of his aunts at the nursin’ home, went to Dollar Tree, got stuff off the back porch because it and da cave are gettin’ pressure washed in the mornin’, and hauled the biiiiiiiiiiiiiiig trash can down to the road for pickup tomorrow. I have some pound cake, strawberries, and whipped cream (the can kind) with which to make me a strawberry shortcake in a while. Even got some ice cream! YUM!

I changed the sheets and washed them, washed my work clothes, cleaned the kitchen, and vacuumed. I also found time to walk Gordie ,go to the Sto for beer ,and take a nap. Not a bad day off. Hockey is up next.

Keep it up, butters, it will pass.

Hang in there, Butters.

Sounds like a pretty contented day on the MMP. I’ve got the two loads of laundry I needed to do done and will be heading out to mow the yard when I finish this post.

See all y’all tomorrow.

Y’all still have Huddle House in your neck of the woods metal mouse!

butters, physical activity played a big part of when I quit. Keep it up!

flytrap, not all sushi involves fish. I do vegetarian rolls on occasion.

I enjoyed my ride this afternoon. I also hopped in the car to take the studio paper recycling down to the convenience center down the street. I fixed chicken fatteh with rice, mint yogurt sauce and cucumber-tomato salad. This one is a keeper.

Most of the cemetery flower thing is done and we cooked some hotdogs over the grill. Lawn finished and hedges too. Go us!

I bet.

Darn – missed by one. Curse you Spidey!!!

Sometimes I don’t understand you at all…

Red, yep, the one in Huntsville proper closed, but they are scattered here and there in North Ali-bama and Tennessee. Triple cheeseburger with sweet tea and fries…

Lawn mowed so I went out to dinner and tried a place I’ve never been before. Meatloaf was tasteless and the waitress twice brought unsweetened tea instead of the sweet tea I ordered, so I don’t think I’ll be going back there.
