Surprisingly, I don’t usually have ice cream at home. Though I buy maybe too many cones of it at stores.
Ice cream does bad things to me. I don’t eat that stuff anymore.
the play’s the thing
Wherein I’ll catch the conscience of the King.
Yeah, I have that problem with water.
Nope. You are not. It’s like watching a play.
We took 'Beamer to his favorite restaurant for dinner tonight. A belated birthday celebration. He had fun. Other than that, laundry has been laundered and we have had a quiet day.
Nighty-night y’all.
Awake just before 5 and I decided to get my butt out of bed, even tho I only had about 6 hours of sleep. With luck, between getting up this early and mowing the yard, I’ll be exhausted at bed time. I hope.
**FCD **has a nasty cold. He had Nyquil for a nightcap and it’s just wearing off - the coughing is starting up. I foresee a battle to keep him in the house while I mow today. He does not need to be outside exerting himself!
The only other thing I need to do today is call my mom.
Happy Sunday and Happy Mothers Day as applicable!
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. I shall start laundry shortly.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 64 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy with a predicted high of 86 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. I shall go deheathenate with the Luteruns this mornin’. JDD and Partner have invitated me to come eat N.O.L. I am promised sketties ‘n meatballs and homemade pound cake with strawberries and real whipped cream. YUM! I will go with them up to the nursin’ home in large and in charge Dawson, Jawja to visit JDD’s ‘rents. In addition to today bein’ Mother’s Day, JDD’s father’s birthday was on Thursday. He is 93 years old. After all that I shall be happy to come back to da cave and chill the rest of the day.
OK, I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. I also need to get purtified for deheathenization soon.
Happy Mother’s Day to all you Mumper moms of humans and various critters!
Happy Sunday Y’all!
Today is the day I finally go up a mountain. I haven’t been on a hike in almost a year and I’m needing one badly.
Spousal unit is still abed - I think he must have taken more Nyquil, because I haven’t heard any coughing for a while. The sun is up and the sky is blue. After it warms a bit more and dries out some more, I’ll fuel up the riding mower and make the yard look a bit more respectable.
Morning all. Happy Mom Day to all the Moms and moms of MMP’ers.
Interesting Saturday. Up at 6am, refereed a game at 8:30 (cool and cloudy), then coached at 10:30am (girls won 7-3), then drove 30 miles to another town to coach the boys (we won, 6-5, something of an surprise since we had no subs and 2 of my best players were missing). Ate at Huddle House and then drove home, laid down about 6PM and didn’t wake up until 5am today.
So two loads of laundry and lawn mowage are on the schedule. I also signed up to coach another two weeks of soccer by combining teams with another coach to play in a tournament 2-4 June.
Happy Sunday!
Happy Mother’s Day.
It’s bright and N.O.S. outside, 55 degrees now with a high of 76 predicted.
My windows need washing.
Lots of weird dreams, last night, being attacked by a dog; being attacked by a stuffed teddy bear which had come to life and had sharp teeth; and cleaning house, which was an awful mess. I had people visiting and they were leaving pee on the toilet seat and dirty dishes all over the house.
I have a very unhappy cat this morning. He ate all his treats and he is going crazy for more. He woke me up twice last night, too bad for him, I showed him the empty jar and he walked away. He has the most piteous meows. When he’s not being naughty.
I feel like I am being mean, but it’s for the best. Treats are like crack for him and he needs to get clean.
The priority for today is getting the lawn mowed.
Riding mowage is done, as is weed-whackage. I’ll drag the push mower out in a few minutes and finish the ditch. Then I get to shower and dress like an adult.
Good times!
Happy Mother’s day!
Have a good hike big kitty. Do you take field glasses to watch the wildlife as you go?
It’s another lovely day today. I’m going to finish up the garden work then take a ride. I’ve been asked to head to Dragontail next weekend with a friend who has gone middle aged crazy and bought a sports convertible. I’ve ridden the tail on a bike, but never a car.
Push mowage is done. Oh, and earlier I drove the John Deere thru the woods to keep our path clear. I need to go back with nippers and loppers to clear the overhang - maybe tomorrow when I get home. Maybe.
For now, I need to think about lunch. What do I want??
No. I usually take a camera but the battery in my old camera has gone to the Land of Wind and Ghosts so I just looked a lot. I saw a neat shelf fungus and two chipmunks. As I was leaving a turkey walked across the road in front of me–I slowed down for it. Not the right time of year for car huntin’.
The little waterfall at the bottom of the trail is back after all the rain we’ve had. It was so loud I could hear it half a mile before I saw it.
Showered; I smell better. What? It’s long-run Sunday; did LSD today (that’s Long Slow Distance in runnerspeak), with an emphasis on the “S”.
Happy Mother’s Day to those who celebrate &
Happy Mutha’s Day to those who celebrate that way; I know we have a few mumpers were “Mother” is only half of the word.
Iffn you want to do something else, I’ll substiture for you. Really, I’ll impose myself to do that just to help you out.
I so wanna do that one day…on my bike. But that would mean needing to ride more (which means less running…see above). Not bucket list per se, but a goal. An easily accomplishable goal, (goals are easier to achieve than bucket lists). Vacation plans are in limbo for this year right now, so there might be an opportunity to take a few days & do it. However, we know that won’t happen as I haven’t taken a ‘normal’ (Read: relaxing, go any time) vacation in over 20 years.
Blurf. Happy Mother’s Day! I have been bizzy cleaning the house and am almost to floor mopping stage which means almost finished. I think we are going to get our maid back or find a new one. Hubby had to run to a pub to irk on their walk in cooler and is bringing back pizza from there as no cooking is taking place here today.
I still need to bathe the dog. Tahred. Moody and out of sorts but no smoking for 9 days. Tough.
Yay Butters! Hang in there. It will start getting easier soon. I promise.
Conga-rats on the win MetalMouse!
Off to clean off the dining room table. You know, where all the mail and stuff goes and becomes a never ending pile o’ stuff, for reasons unknown? I will conquer that pile today.
Happy Mother’s Day!
