Cranking Up The MMP

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 72 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 97 for the day. Gonna be a hawt one! I foresee cee-mint pond time.

flytrap bein’ as this is Sattidy, no I will not be goin’ to the church house. :stuck_out_tongue:

Plans for the day besides some cee-mint pond time include a trip to  The Maul  because OYKW wants to buy some new pants. On the upside this means N.O.L. at the really good Chinese place as it’s just across from  The Maul. Late this afternoon I shall go ahead and grill up the poke tenderloins for tomorrow. I think I shall also go ahead and make the squish casserole. It’s just a neverendin’ wild time around heah!

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

It took 2 benedryl equivalents and a lot of calamine, but I managed to sleep thru the night - soundly enough that I didn’t hear the rain that came thru, despite the windows being open. It’s mid-60s out there right now, and with the overcast and potential for more rain, no reason to close up the house today. YAY!!

**FCD **got up and dealt with Higgs, but he’s gone back to bed. I don’t know how he can go back to sleep after waking, but he does. Generally, once I’m up, that’s it. So I’ve had breakfast and I’m caffeinating, and life is good.

**sari **- you really need to try well-made calamari. If the texture is like rubber bands, it’s been overcooked. Properly prepared, it’s really really yum! And speaking of which, the house still smells like canola oil. I probably need to re-clean around the stove.

**swampy **- you always seem to cook ahead and reheat. Do you ever eat anything that you’ve just cooked? Or are you that fond of leftovers?? Yeah, I know, some things are better the next day, but not everything!

No clue what the plans for today are. We’d talked about maybe mowing, but it’s too wet, so that ain’t gonna happen. I might clean my desk - it’s becoming a bit of a disaster area. We’ll see what else may happen. Indecision is the key to flexibility, you know.

Happy Summer Solstice/First Day of Summer/Saturday!!!

Hope your recovery is speedy Bobbio.

I love calamari. But always made by others. If it’s got the consistency of rubber bands, it wasn’t prepared properly.

Going crazy between getting urgent things done at work and finishing up photo project for mom. Need to do laundry and think about what I need to pack for Mexico and what presents I need to bring.

Hoping I’ll be less scarce in the MMP sometime soon.

Hugs all.

GT

MOOOOOOM it’s because I’m all efficient. :stuck_out_tongue: Ok, and kinda lazy. I could grill the poke and make the squish casserole tomorrow, but it’s easier to just do today and reheat tomorrow. Reheatin’ can take place whilst rolls are bakin’ and beans steamin’.

Ima go shake OYKW out of bed now. He’s the one who wants to go to  The Maul  so he needs to get a move on.

Who here is from Albuquerque? I’ll wave as we fly in.

Did you know thatKirk Douglas is a gourmet chef?

lieu, I think **tarra **is living there. I know she’s in NM…

Spousal unit just finished his shower - our day is beginning!

Caturday!

Morning. I’m up and caffeinated. Gordie has gone out, and gone back to sleep.

No pants buyin’ shall ensue. OYKW decided he did not want to brave  The Maul  today. However, he is still takin’ me to the good Chinese place cause I have my little heart set on that for N.O.L. I am, after all, a delicate flower that should never be disappointed.

ETA: I have grilled the poke tenderloins and made the squish casserold. Wanted to get those done before it got too hawt.

Happy solstice!

Just having a minor sulk here- went downstairs about 10 minutes ago, and one of my housemates asked me “Is there a kind of moth that looks like a hummingbird?” Well, yes, there is- a hummingbird hawkmoth- it’s seriously rare in this country, and I’ve always wanted to see one. There was one in the back yard. It had just left. They had photos to prove it.

Bah.

Plus the rest of the house is having a barbeque tonight, and I can’t go, I have irk. I’ll probably be back late, and will just have to deal with the messy aftermath tomorrow and won’t get any of the fun. sulk

I see hummingbird moths all the time Nuts. I have a butterfly bush right outside my window and they hang out quite a bit.

Trying to get motivated today.

Had turkey bacon egg and cheese biscuits for brunch(I had leftover Bojangles biscuits). Twas good. I need to go on a Liquor Sto run shortly.

swampy, I thought you said no pant’s wearing for a sec. Howdy, neighbor!

Flytrap, yeah, Kirk was famous for his Cthulhushi.

**FCD **bought a couple of heads! He wanted a couple of styrofoam wig stands to display his helmets, and he also wanted some kind of fabric marker, so we went to Joann’s this morning since it was near the beauty supply that sold the wig stands. As it happens, Joann’s sells heads, too, and cheaper than the beauty supply place, so he got his markers and his heads and some stencils and stencil material. Then we went by the credit union to deposit the overpayment check that our dentist refunded to us, followed by late second breakfast/lunch at Cracker Barrel. Now we’re home. I just finished vacuuming the car and wiping down the interior - it had gotten pretty cruddy. And I vacuumed the dining room - Ziva likes to lie under the table, and there were clumps of gray hair all over the place.

My new jeans were delivered - two shades of dark gray. The original price tags read $50. I got them for $17.99. They’re nice jeans, but I don’t think I’d have paid $50 for them. And they were made in Kenya - that’s the first time I’ve seen that on a clothing tag. Anyway, I like them very much, so I’m just about all ready for my vacation.

While we were gone, **BBBobbio **was texting me, and apart from the photo (I didn’t know my phone would display pictures) the messages were weird. He must be on some seriously good medication. I can’t share the pic because my cheapie flip phone doesn’t do that. And I ain’t getting a smart phone.

My BIL is in the hospital - he just had back surgery - finally. Unlike BBBobbio, BIL didn’t have a surgeon flake on him. Rather, he didn’t bother taking care of his diabetes and other health issues and they refused to operate till he got himself together. Plus they’d discovered he’d had a heart attack, and we’re pretty sure he’s not taking his depression meds. I feel so sorry for his wife. I obviously got the best of the 3 brothers.

In from cee-mint pond time. ‘Twas very relaxatin’ but I’ve had enough sun for one day. I’ve had a shower and now OYKW is in the shower. In a little while I shall go to the Pubic Sto’ and get some of their hot ‘n spicy breaded chikin wings. We got to talkin’ about ‘em this afternoon and now I have developed a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for 'em so they must be had.

MOOOOOOM next FCD is in Joann’s he should ask if they have heads that are big enough to be mean biker heads. It’ll be fun!

Did he bring enough for everybody? :dubious:

It’s been a very lazy do nothing day.

I talked to a friend I haven’t seen in a while for a long time. I got some juicy gossip and I know it’s not nice but it made me smile.
Former cow-irker has resumed her downward spiral. She lied to the boss about me and got me fired, she wanted my job. She had gotten another employee fired when she wanted his job.
Those jobs wont be of much use to her if she is sitting in jail, which is where she is heading if she doesn’t clean up her act.
The boss, who should have known better, I suspect he will be losing his job since he has been writing rubber paychecks.
The previous boss is now facing sexual harassment charges, big surprise. One night when I walked into work he told me he was going to bite my nipple and rip if off in his teeth. I laughed at him, but not all women are as tolerant as I am.

So I guess the say hasn’t been a total waste after all.

A happy Solstice to all!

I am in Albuquerque! I would have waved back, but I think Lieu may have already flown in and out. It is HOT in ABQ again today, high 90s. Very low humidity though, so not unbearable. Especially if you are indoors, in a cool apartment.

In other news, we got some of the Canada Dry Ten ginger ale (10 is the number of calories in it, I think). I am here to tell you that it is a fairly decent tasting diet ginger ale, but somewhere along the line, the usual “ginger-y” taste of Canada Dry got lost. That’s the only downside. I also tried it with some cherry extract added, and oh boy, I liked that; it tasted so much like the cherry ginger ale that Canada Dry use to sell. I do not know why they stopped making it, but I think they should start again! LOL

Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday! And thanks all for your prayers for my friend - her name is Michele.

Well, that was fun. I went to the Pubic Sto’ for the wings. It had started thunderatin’ all around and the sky was growin’ dark so I kinda felt like I might get into some stormy weather on my way back to da cave. ‘Twas really dark out when I left the sto’ to go to twuck. About the time I got to twuck, the bottom fell out and da bear got soaked. ICK! The power went out for a bit here at da cave as well. On the plus side, it has cooled down considerably outside. Oh and the wings were nummy.

Herbs Michele remains in my thoughts and prayers.

Sari sounds like some just desserts are bein’ served all around.

I killded the MMP!

And on that note, Ima go join OYKW in the bedroom to watch teevee and ummm… stuff.

Nitey Nite Y’all!
