DIGUVA on a Virginia standard plate on a generic SUV. Probably "I dig the University of Virginia (“UVA”). Slight chance it’s meant as “Dig you some Virginia (like I do)?” Not really Yoda, I don’t. Way too much inland; not nearly enough beach. And too far north.
POET-JK1 on a FL standard plate on a generic car. Hooray for poets; we need more of those.
BORNBLS on a very raggedy car. “Born blessed” is my take and I’m happy the owner has found a source of strength and thanks in what’s evidently a difficult life of few earthly rewards.
If I’m going to drag myself to the office in this awful weather I better get rewarded with some interesting plates. All I saw today was TIS which might be someone’s initials and TREESH on a nursing specialty plate. Not sure what that one means.
Me on the other hand I think of grapes (uva is spanish for grape).
I have to revise my (bicep)+ &SWEET that I posted before, I saw the car again and it was &MILD.
I wonder if two the teslas EW␣GAS and LOL␣OP3C are friends. Of course maybe if they become completely autonomous and join together the may just become a PAINBOT
Part of the reason I try to describe the car type, driver, plate frame, any bumper stickers, etc., is to give everyone else here the context needed to have a fighting chance of decoding the meanings on their own.
Unrelated to Tahoe …
I’m pretty sure there are some makes of cars that come in an SLT trim level. Mercedes is one I think. Now that we know the context of @WildaBeast’s find was Lake Tahoe, we know this isn’t it.
But next time somebody encounters the “SLT” idea however spelled, trim level is one possible interpretation.
Scored two today:
SGMJ on a 5-character USMC booster plate on a plain white Toyota sedan. The woman driving was 50-something, had very erect bearing, and a short practical hairstyle. I think she was a retired Sergeant Major. I also think her change was forever.
BKFUL on a FL standard plate on a SUV. Might be something to do with BK = bankruptcy, but I doubt it. My best theory is “Be careful”.
D’oh! . Burger King never entered my mind. Then again, they’ve been my least favorite of the hamburger chains since they were invented. So very much out of mind, and mostly out of sight around here. Google maps sez there are 3 within 10 miles of me, but I don’t normally go near 2 of them.
I’ve worked on restaurant accounts for a fair proportion of my career: Applebee’s, Taco Bell, KFC, and Olive Garden. “BK = Burger King” is still etched in my brain.
I saw several on the way home tonight, and this time I had the foresight to write them down as soon as I got home.
MR ARC on a large, expensive looking BMW sedan, probably a 7 series. Is that arc and in an electrical arc, or a curve? Or a misspelling of Noah’s Ark? Or short for architect?
SUPAMN on a Jeep. I guess someone really loves Superman. Or maybe they love supper, man.
GOTTDS on a CA 9/11 memorial plate, on a Cadillac. I read it as “Got TDS” but I have no idea what TDS is.
YHGOLF, on a generic crossover. I assume the owner’s initials are Y.H., and they love golf.
Cadillac has had off and on a model called the DTS. Not quite the same.
As to the trump theory …
“TDS” is the dismissive term RW types use to discount any objection to trump’s actions as mere derangement on your part, not malfeasance on his part. So it seems an odd thing to claim to have. Righties would only accuse others of having it, and lefties would deny it’s derangement. Nobody, regardless of their politics, would be proud to claim to have it.
I sure know and use that acronym for them, but it was way down in the mental ooze in my mental bilge and did not surface when beckoned.
As you might imagine I have a rather vast collection of 2-5 letter acronyms / initialisms stuck in my head. It’s kind of fun to slowly experience them leaking away now that I’m retired and they’re not being reinforced. More relevant to this thread it’s amazing how often I see an ordinary series license plate with 3 or 4 consecutive random letters that means something to me and people like me. 'Tis a curse I tells ya.
