Custom Licence Plates — Seen in the Wild

A fan of Barbie the doll has a VW Beetle convertible painted pink and pastel blue with plates 3BARBIE.

What a plate, and what a paint job.

I’m pretty sure I saw that on a humvee when they were all the rage.

Clearly honoring the great Willie Mays: SAYHY24

T T — what could this possibly mean?

Those hearts would’ve looked better on an Audi.

Definitely would be better in an Audi.

69 WING

A beautiful 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona 440 Magnum. Only 503 of them were ever built. According to CarGurus, only 92 are left in existence, and only 11 of those are Hemis. The 440 Magnum was the standard engine.

I spotted this in a Dodge dealership in Grand Junction CO a few months back.

A post was merged into an existing topic: What’s the most interesting car you saw today?

Three I’ve seen in the last few days:

ERNDIT 1 (on a Mercedes-Benz SUV whose owner apparently wanted to assure people that the vehicle wasn’t stolen))

GET GON (I’m sensing an antisocial motorist)

GRADY 1 (probably just the owner’s surname, but perhaps a tribute to Whitman Mayo’s character on Sanford and Son)

ERNDIT may want you to know he/she didn’t inherit the money or win a lottery, or receive it in a hefty divorce settlement.

Loved that guy.

I was following a Tesla the other day with a plate reading NO OIL

This one might have a sad meaning:

MYSSTR

on a breast cancer plate. I hope it means she’s a survivor.

That plate might be in honor of the car owner’s sister.

I hope it is because their sister is a thriving survivor.

ETA: looks like @Bullitt and I were simultaneously posting. Great minds, eh?

I Love Milwaukee on a CA plate

IRNHRS — a Yankees fan loves Lou Gehrig, “the Iron Horse”

Not knowing much about baseball, I would’ve assumed it was in reference to a motorcycle. Harley even has an Iron Horse Hotel in Milwaukee.

Or possibly I Love Mike?

As a motorcyclist, I’d agree with you. But I’m also a baseball fan, and with the NY Yankees license plate frame and also the sticker saying got lou gehrig?, it’s clearly about him.

MST TRVL on the front of the bug splat-covered VW Atlas.

MKE is our local airport code and a very common abbreviation for Milwaukee.

I’m not denying it, it’s just where my mind went. I don’t think I’ve heard of the Iron Horse/Lou Gehrig connection so my mind wouldn’t have put them together.
