LVR BOY this morning. They also had a funny bumper sticker. “I’m not drunk, I’m avoiding potholes”
Saw 2 today.
- A convertible w FIT4SUN
- A macho pickup truck with RED2RAC. Not sure how much racing he can do in that rig. But by golly, he’s ready.
I am not against textiles, but I am fairly certain I would never exclaim OMG␣YARN! I think I am more of an ALOHA␣0 kind of guy.

Had an Uber driver today with plate XNASA. I didn’t want to ask if it was true.
My license plate reads, in part, X WING – it’s a reference to a Star Wars ship.
Back when the Illinois Tollway still had tollbooth attendants, there was an attendant at the toll plaza on the Tri-State Tollway, near my house, who, several times, commented on my plate, and asked me if I had played hockey for the Detroit Red Wings.
Saw a New Jersey plate with NJAA1. The NJ part is pretty obvious. Wiki has quite a list of things AA might be: AA - Wikipedia. Plus someone’s initials of course.
This was an Audi SUV with a sparkly rhinestone license plate frame.
That reminds me, yesterday I saw a white pickup with RED 5. Caught my attention because I want to check to see if RED 6 is available for my red Mazda 6.
A 1970s era Porsche with NEIN11
A couple of good ones today while out and about. SNOBA11 on a white Lexus and CORGO on a small SUV with a Corgi poking its head out the window
I saw a Mustang with CDOYS. Which I suppose is a clever respelling of “Cody’s” after some other dude already got the conventional spelling.
Saw an NY plate with SCARCROW. I hadn’t known you could get 8 letters in NY,
I saw a red tag with white writing today that had 4 numbers (don’t remember what they were) followed by FX. The interesting part was that underneath the tag number, it said “TRANSYLVANIA”. Due to shadows, I couldn’t read the top part of the tag.
I just realized that this thread is about custom tags, which I don’t believe this was. But it’s not worth starting a thread about.
That was definitely it. Thanks!
Saw an NC plate with ZAID’S. Couldn’t get a look at the driver, but I bet that’s his name.
This one I had to Google. (Now everyone can tell me how unhip I am.) NY plates are usually three letters followed by four numbers, but this was the reverse: 117 UNSC
I think you’re allowed 8 characters on an ordinary plate, but the special interest plates have room for only 6.
I was encouraged to be BE␣GR8 and CR8IVE on the road today, but I was more worried that the 3BIRD5 might run into a BLOON as they flew in the sky. I do wonder about IM␣MRD though. Where they forced to put that on their license plate because of previous indiscretions? I know, it could be anything but I choose to read it as I’m Married.

“I’m Married” makes sense; “MRD” might also be their initials. Early in my career, when I worked in market research, “MRD” was a common acronym, in my industry, for “Market Research Department,” but I doubt that’s it, in this case.
Yeah, sometimes they are really clear especially given other clues, sometimes it’s whatever meaning you put into it given your mood. There is a non-custom license plate in a parking spot near where I live that starts with 5HT, and depending on what is on your mind you might give it a particular meaning
