Saw a Ford Bronco with the plate “GDDYUP”
I saw a customized / tricked out BMW last night with the plate N55SLOW. I’m assuming that was a comment on the 55 mph speed limit, except that hasn’t been a thing since the 1990s
. Does the driver dislike all 55 mph speed limits, even in places where it’s probably appropriate?
Two in the parking lot today. A bright blue Lexus LFA with LFADNA and a small SUV with OFF2SNW.
Saw ARTLLRY the other day. There was what looked like a 1st Cavalry shield in the far left of the license, so probably legit.
Also saw LIPSTX on a bright red Honda (well, it would be bright if it had been washed).
Saw YIP YIP on a small white car while out getting lunch. Maybe they have a small yappy dog?
If we take the 5s as standing in for Ss we get “N(ot) SSSLOW”. Which is probably accurate. ![]()
That could be. I read it as “N(ot) 55, slow”.
ETA: You know, if they’d just left out the 55 there would have been enough room to spell out “not” (but that plate may have already been taken).
Yeah. I figure most of the difficult plates are working around the easy ones that were taken decades ago.
Same with personal domain names when thosecwere hot.

Or they are a Muppet alien.
Tonight I saw SUBIEQT, on a Subaru, of course. I could not see the driver to determine if they were, in fact, a cutie. Unless that was referring to the car.

I read it as a reference to I Can’t Drive 55.
Scored 3:
- LAFAY on a 5-character max plate. Their name I guess.
- NTOWL on a 5-character max plate.
- VOLKZ on a custom-painted lowered Volkswagen Jetta.
BOW FIN, I assume the fish?
I forgot about them. I like that idea better!
Two on the way home tonight:
AXIS-3 - maybe some sort of 3D tech worker?
BUYBOX - I’m stumped on this one.
White Hyundai SUV with YAHWEH_1. Yahweh had a heavy right foot and did not need to stop for a school bus stop sign.
Eh …
Laws of God; laws of man. He knows which He’ll follow.
Saw two:
- ADVOKAT on a Porsche Taycan. That being the German word for “lawyer” in German was ideal.
That previous post got mixed up between a long-standing draft on my phone and finishing it on the PC. The other from that post was SFLAA where the FLA might be Florida or the SFL might be “south florida”.
Then I saw 3 all at once at a stoplight
- LSROL on the bicycle enthusiast plate that holds 5 characters.
- KRTZ on the surfing enthusiast plate that also holds 5 characters.
- KAH CHOW on an Indiana plate. I don’t know what it means, but it’s a neat noise.

On the way back from that adventure I found
- 10⎵⎵83. The woman driving looked about right for turning 42 next month.
- DR0⎵0LL. This was almost certainly a regular serial issue plate, not a custom, but I thought “droll” or “drool” or both fit a tan Volvo very nicely.
