MY EA6B, the Prowler
Saw one yesterday I forgot to include.
As I’ve said, FL is a rear plate only state. Sometimes you find a car with an FL rear plate and a front plate from another state. Probably not quite kosher, but folks do it. Of course, being FL we also have a lot of part time residents and tourists, so seeing out of state plates on either / both ends is hardly rare, even though I’m about 350 miles from the nearest state border.
Anyhow, saw a car with an NY front plate that read NY⎵GIRL. As it passed I saw the rear plate was an ordinary serial FL plate. If the front plate was a replica it was a good one.
The Trader Joe’s parking lot is usually good for a few custom plates. Today I only saw one kind of meh plate… KNT. Not sure it was someone’s initials or if someone likes to knit but “KNIT” was already taken.
Today I saw PMS on a Nissan Versa driven by a young lady.
Saw 04_PONY on what I assume was a red 2004 Mustang
Yesterday on a Mazda SUV with Utah plates: MAHZDUH
That’s because it’s not his, it’s ma’s, duh.
Saw a car with a Pittsburgh Steelers license plate frame and bumper stickers. The plate said PIT⎵BUL.
For those who haven’t seen these this is a Honda Acty, a Japanese Kei truck. This one is owned by the Boston Yacht Services and has a multiple self-referential custom plate:
Scored 4 more today that I recall, plus a couple that I can’t.
-
JUPGRL on a standard FL plate on a Toyota RAV4. “Jup” is probably “Jupiter”, a swanky beachfront suburb about 40 miles upcoast from here.
-
REDSOXJ on a standard FL plate on a nice but ordinary Genesis sedan. So Jay likes the Boston team?
-
BJT⎵TAX on a standard-looking out of state plate. I couldn’t identify the state in the time I had it in sight. Presumably the owner of the car has a tax prep service.
-
BUMM on a Miami Dolphins booster plate on a gussied-up BMW SUV. The only Dolphin w a remotely similar nickname was Don Shula, the legendary head coach; he was sometimes known as “Bum”. He’s been dead a few years, so it sure wasn’t his car.
Seen today: YEAH X3. Beatles fan?
Was the car a BMW X3 - Wikipedia?
The FL 9/11 commemorative plate has a sorta red and white stripes with blue accents motif; just screams “I’m Patriotic!”
Anyhow saw one of those today on a white SUV I’ve seen around here before but I don’t think I’ve posted about. It read USA⎵MED. Some googling suggests there are a couple of medical practices near here whose names are roughly that.
No, I think it was a Toyota, but I didn’t get as good a look at it as I wanted.
PUREGLD on a Toyota Camry. It was a stamped plate, as opposed to printed, so it was at least twenty years old.
Pretty good haul for me today …
-
ECOLAB on an MB S550. Nice car. Ecolab is a multinational corp with HQ in Minneapolis. Is this some local exec? Or something totally different?
-
M240I on a BMW …yep M240I. No points for originality
-
RVDAD on an SUV with an NV booster plate for the Las Vegas Golden Knights hockey team. Does “RV” = “recreational vehicle” or ???
-
KHAI on a pickup truck with the FL surfing booster plate.
-
BNGEL on a Tesla. Cincinnati Bengals fan? “Be an angel?” “Bangle”? No clue.
Saw this one again this morning, it’s MINS CAR.
Also saw SVR VXN… silver vixen? It was on a silver car but I couldn’t see the driver.
Way back when California first started offering vanity plates I read a report that the most-often requested plate was some variation of Corvette (The limit was seven characters). Second was PORSCHE, third was MUSTANG.
KENDOG, I assume it’s Ken’s nickname.
Person from the Bengal region of South Asia?
