Better yet, Lucifer is a rerun so I don’t have to figure out what to watch vs record.
Arrow (normally on Thursday) is on after Supergirl
Tuesday brings Flash and LoT for parts 3 and 4
Brian
Yep.
Good start though a little too much angst.
Okay that was pretty awesome. The fight in the Church was one of the greatest scenes on any of these DC shows ever and I like how they aren’t afraid to have important scenes for any character on any show to the point where the titles were just for the cross over itself. Heck, technically the marriage of the title character of one show was taking place on another show.
Not sure how I feel about the “Evil Flash” being the Thawne we know from Season one rather than the native Earth X version of either Wells or Thawne.
I felt really bad for the vaporized Pastor. He seemed nice.
Shed a tear for The Greatest American Hero.
Forgot to add that I assume the nervous waitress was Barry and Iris’ daughter from the future. Of course you would think someone from the future would know this wasn’t their actual wedding
They really went all-out with staging the West-Allen wedding. Kara singing and Iris walking down the aisle was probably one of the most heartfelt moments of The Flash, a show that’s always worn its heart on its sleeve. Then the Nazis showed up and everything went Legends-level crazy. Wally West plucking bullets out of the air looked like he was ready to get down at the reception. Oliver jumping through a breach to get the drop on Arrow-X. Killer Frost mowing down Nazis with an ice sword. Overgirl vs Supergirl showed us some good ole architecture destruction that we haven’t seen since the first season of Supergirl.
And then there was Olicity. Are we really going back to Arrow-4 psychotic Felicity? Over on the /r/arrow subreddit, they hate Olicity and the shippers that promote the pairing with a passion. So redditors invented SuperArrow as a way to troll those shippers. And what do you know? SuperArrow is actually a thing on Earth-X. Still better than Olicity.
Other random thoughts:
Poor Guardian-X gets put down before the opening credits even roll. Jimmy Olsen is useless in any universe.
I agree that the waitress that talked to Barry was probably a future West-Allen offspring.
Sara Lance - charming the pants off everyone across time and the multiverse.
Where did Oliver get Kryptonite?
I assumed the same, daughter or grand-daughter. Outside chance though of little (half) sister.
That was a brief cameo indeed, but good to see him.
And when Barry said that it bothers him every time he sees him (or something like that) it was kind of ridiculous because he sees (a version of) Wells every day. If just the sight of a Wells like personage was traumatic, then it’s a different story.
Believe it or not. Maybe he wasn’t vaporized. Maybe he’s just tiny and searching around the church for an instruction book.
Other random thoughts:
I guess it’s from the comic books, but why would any universe call itself anything other than “Universe 1”? Why would you not think of yourself the center of the multi-verse (or why would you think of some other place as that center)?
Hated Iris’s wedding dress.
There were other bad fashion choices. Shiny silver and black cocktail dress with illusion netting at a daytime wedding? no. Whatever Felicity was wearing at the rehearsal dinner.
Liked Sara’s dress at the wedding. Also, she and Alex make a good fighting team.
Oliver is an idiot. First, why did it take so long to take the guy’s mask off (It was more dramatic, yes. But really as soon as he’s restrained, the mask should have come off. Second, I get that he looks like your friend, but he’s not. There’s no reason for “a moment alone,” not unless you wanted to torture him without witnesses. He’s not necessarily “good inside.” You have no past or history with this person. There should be no emotional connection. If you’re feeling one, it’s fake. Third, do not open the jail cell just because a prisoner is foaming at the mouth, unless you have weapons in hand. They’re evil. They have the tech to jump universes. They’re more than capable of faking their own cyanide capsules.
Star Labs gets less secure by the moment.
Church weddings do not have waiters that serve sparkling water. Not during the ceremony. That’s just wrong. Assuming that she wasn’t invisible to everyone but Barry, someone should have asked what the fuck she was doing. (I assume offspring of some sort, too)
Obviously Cisco had to go down because that solves the problem too easily (also explains why Gypsy wasn’t at the wedding).
Well, it was screwed up by a time traveler from another universe.
Dawn was my first thought, as well. Or Jenni. (For non-comics readers - Barry and Iris, in the comics, had 2 children, twins Don and Dawn. Don had a son, Bart, and Dawn a daughter, Jenni. All 4 have the same speed powers as Barry. One assumes if they’re being brought into this universe, they won’t be native to the 30th/31st century, though.)
Ollie and Felicity’s drama is reminding me why I don’t watch Arrow. Ugh. So much worse than all of the relationship drama in Flash and Supergirl (although Kara’s ‘well, I suppose I shouldn’t have relationships at all’ shit is getting there).
This Multiverse is stacked and finite. That was established when they were trying to find a new Welles. Once that’s established, it’s easy to get a consistent numbering system - the only reasonable variation for a finite stack is which end you count as ‘1’.
Earth X throws a bit of a money wrench in this - it can only be removed from the count either by active agreement of every traveling entity, or a single entity or group controlling the numbering - but that’s the general principle.
As someone from the west coast and part of the cot-caught merger, why would you do that to your children unless you wanted them to just spend their entire lives in therapy?
Yeah, they sound identical in my accent, too, and I’ve always thought it was a very bad choice…
Actually, I think Alex’s dress makes sense. Deciding to go to the wedding was a spur of the moment thing; Alex wouldn’t have gone shopping.
So spur of the moment - they left without telling anyone.
Ratings for last night’s episodes certainly were supersized.
For Supergirl: 2.65 million total viewers and a 0.9 rating, surging 40 and 80 percent from Supergirl‘s previous episode to mark that show’s biggest audience since Jan. 23 and its best demo number since last November’s crossover launch (3.5 mil/1.1).
For Arrow: 2.54 mil and a 0.9, nearly doubling that show’s most recent Thursday outing to mark its best numbers since last November’s crossover installment/Episode 100 (3.6 mil/1.3)
All told, The CW enjoyed its most-watched Monday since Jan. 12, 2009 and its highest-rated one in more than six years.
It’s cool, bro. I didn’t need any more proof that Reddit is trash; I was already sold.
Makes you wonder why supergirl has not made an appearance on earth prime. If there is one on every earth, then by definition, Earth prime should have one.
damnit.
Yup. And if there’s a Kara, there also has to be a Kal-El. And if Iris is a reporter, she should be familiar with Clark Kent of the Daily Planet. Also, we know Barry’s Earth has a Bruce Wayne, but is he also Batman? It’s implied Supergirl’s Earth has a Batman, so does every Earth have a Batman?
Also, we all knew Victor Garber was leaving Legends of Tomorrow, but it was very sad about Martin. I had hoped he could go home and be a husband, father, and grandfather. I wonder if it was a consequence of meeting his younger self? If that hadn’t happened, he wouldn’t have a daughter or grandson. It was very touching, though, that he called Jax his son.
