I’m heading to D.C. in a few hours. I work tomorrow afternoon/evening, and the same for Saturday. Given those limitations, and the mystery that is my specific schedule, is there any interest in a Doper Breakfast?
I don’t know my way around very well, but will have both the Toonmobile and the bicycle with me. Anyone up for omlettes du Toon? I’d love to meet some new Dopers and reconnect with those I met up at the Upper West Side Dopefest.
As I just told Geo in a quick email, I;ve got a 12 noon call at the Kennedy Center at the bottom of New Hampshire Ave. I’m a few blocks from there- any decent VERY close place that might do breakfasts, or brunch? I can’t risk being late, but would love to hang a bit. Y’all lemme know, I’ve got a car but would be deeply screwed driving around Georgetown.
Cartooniverse
For some reason, my email system has not seen fit to deliver the message yet. Sigh. Anyway, if someone who is more familiar with DC can suggest a place, since I am one of those provincial suburban types and thus know nothing about eateries inside the Beltway, I will make an attempt to be there. I can’t promise anything, since I work until midnight and traffic may be horrific in the morning, but I’d like to see the Toonster if possible.
I’m a definite possibility (though I’ve no idea where’s good to eat). Only problem is that I have to move into school that day. So if we could be done by 11:45 or so that’d be ideal.
I live in NoVa, and am not really familiar with anything outside of Dupont Circle and Adams Morgan, so I don’t have any recommendations. If y’all can find a place that is Metro-friendly, I’m there.
I have located a coffee shop called Cup’a Cup’a at 600 New Hampshire Ave NW that is very close to where Cartooniverse is staying, so we will meet there tomorrow (Friday) morning at 10 AM. Hope some others can make it!
And THAT, my friends, is why she is indeed the Geo Babe. I’ll be there in shorts, standing next to a bicycle at 10:00, probably grinning. Earring in left ear of a jewish star…and, with Geo hanging around I assume.
Sorry to say, I won’t be wearing my Official Dopefest Miniskirt[sup]TM[/sup], but if it is warm enough, I will wear shorts so as to allow admiring of my fabulous gams.
According to Metro get off at Foggy Bottom and then walk 1 block W on I ST NW.
Turn left on NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE NW. Walk 3 blocks SW on NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE NW. Total walking is 0.35 miles
Hey, pun, you wanna meet at the Vienna Metro and ride in together? I figure on getting to the station around 9:30, or a little earlier if I can manage to get moving early enough.
A) invite her to sit on your lap while your wife sits on Weirddave’s lap. But you aren’t bringing a Mrs. Cartooniverse down (and we aren’t bringing a Weirddave), so we can’t do that;
B) hold her protectively while I ramble about my screen name and struggle to hear amidst the doper war cries of “Beer!” and “Hey, this is American beer!”;
C) admire her body from a distance, daring only to touch her when she invites you for a hug.
D) avoid staring at any part of her for too long. She did graduate from college with a specialty in rocks; she does not need to think about what yours are doing:)
Besides, she’s wearing shorts, not the Dopefest Miniskirt of the Third Leg.
[sub]Gah. Two remotely serious posts in 24 hours in a non-debate thread. I need a life.[/sub]
There was no Geobabe at Metro. I got on the metro at 9:40, after waiting. Got to the Metro stop at 10:10.
There were two men at the coffee shop when I got there maybe ten minutes later. One of them vaguely resembled goboy, but it was not him. And there was no brunette vixen there to play the part of Geobabe.
