D & D on the Straight Dope setup thread. (In Middle Earth FA63)

Thanks, all. Now I need to work on a lament for King Eomer - I did, after all, say “That day, I will mourn” when I heard he did not have long to last. Ah, it’s a busy life for a bard.

Everyone, give me feed back on what else you want to play out for the downtime and where I should just summarize and gather everyone back up.

I’m set. Deor’s planning to spend the winter brewing potions, so if anything comes of it, I wouldn’t mind seeing what he made.

I think I should probably be set. I would love to get into some more detail but it doesn’t look like I am going to get time to put anything together any time soon. I think what is up is fine.

Plan a stone tower out too. It will be built over the next few years and attached to the house you were given.

EH should be posting something major for Thoroncir later today.

NAF, you still have time. I don’t want to rush things and Gil-Gandel will still need his months flesh out a bit. Maybe Ghân too.

I may try and put something together, but if I don’t I’m fine with restarting back in Rivendell/Minas Tirith.

Alright, everyone, I’m off to my summer job. I’ll be in very sporadically for the next two months.

Good luck with the job.

Map of Rohan with newer towns shown.

Deepingburg will be of minor note.

Cool! Where’d the original map come from?

Good luck, I’m sure Deor will be fireballing all and sundry when you get back.

By which, I trust, you mean the bad guys.

Woops!

Well, I’m not volunteering to stand next to them when he does

I’m going to start up the next adventure tonight or tomorrow night. Is there any other stuff to take care of before resuming in Minas Tirith for year FA64?

Looks pretty good to me.

Ready and waiting

Sorry I had to move all my Email from Comcast to Outlook Express last night in prep for a move to FIOS. It took 5 hours instead of the 1 planned for. I’ll get the adventure thread up today instead.

**Spellcasters, I now need your spells for at sea and for the days where a landing is planned. This includes Gil-Gandel now. **

There is a Weather Wizard on the ship you will be on.

It is a very large transport named “The Elendil”, 240’ in length with 2 masts and 30 oars. Basically a sailing galley for coastal operations only. Don’t fear you are being escorted by the best ships in Gondor’s Navy, including the Amroth commanded by the Prince of Dol Amroth himself with Eldarion on board learning all aspects of Naval Duty from Boatswain to Fleet Commander. much more later.

Bitur might invest in a suit of lighter armor for this trip. Something about walking around in Dwarven plate while the only thing between him and a watery grave is a leaky bit of wood puts him a bit uneasy.

He’ll take the plate with him, but he probably won’t be wearing it much while on the ship.
