Burgers are on the menu tonight. Tomorrow we’re having a potluck luncheon at the Wildlife Center, so toniught I’m gonna make a no-bake lemon cheesecake. And a nanner pudding for us.
MOOOOOOM I gotta say that property tax estimate ain’t bad for that property. BBBobbio should jump right on that property!
Dindin was teh nummy if’n I do say so myself. OYKW even said he would have followed me anywhere if that lasagna was the first thing I’d made for him. High praise indeed!
The rain is comin’ down steadily. Good evenin’ to be in all warm and dry.
Ooh, Rebo, nice car. My step-MiL has a Rogue. It’s very comfy.
Right. Should be cleaning everything while Mr. Lissar puts the bigger munchkins to bed. The smaller ones are napping in the livingroom, in their [DEL]anti toddler device[/DEL] crib.
A bit of weather weirdness. A tornado watch has been issued for every county surroundin’ where I live but not for Lee County where I live. Seriously, every county north, south, east and west of me has a tornado watch. Lee County is, apparently, a special snowflake county that is immune to tornados.
shortdrum in south Jawja this is gettin’ near tornado time. Actually, down heah, tornado time really never goes away. However, like I said, I live in a special snowflake county that appears to be immune to tornados.
Then again, we had a power glitch thingy a few minutes ago. I would have never noticed it except the microwave said “reset” suddenly. Now, there’s a severe tstorm warning! All I can tell is that we have heavy rain.
This makes me want to go outside and watch. Weird weather does that to me.
Uh, sure. I got that much in petty cash…
I swear, I’ll either spend my final days living in some sort of RV, or I’ll take the plunge and become trailer trash. I’ve been bitten twice by mortgages and job changes, and I don’t relish a third.
Ever since Sweetie got us gym memberships I haven’t gone more than a day without working out and I’ve managed to curb the binge-eating that has plagued me all my life.
Until this week that is. I didn’t go on Wednesday because my head hurt so badly that I just went to sleep. Then Thursday, yesterday, and today I’ve just been too lazy to work up the motivation to go. Then today, I fell off the binging wagon. However, I have just realized that my stomach can’t handle as much food as it used to. I feel so gross. The scary thing is that while I’ve eaten a lot today, it wasn’t as much as I used to eat. I was never one to blame my weight on hormones or genes but I feel horrible realizing what I’ve done to my body all these years.
I need to get back on the wagon and fast. Blech, heartburn for the first time all week too.
There’s nothing wrong with trailer parks…depending on the trailer park (or the trailer). My sister lives in a quite nice trailer though the neighborhood is a bit trashy.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 55 Amurrkin out and foggy. The predicted high is 66 and windy. Guess it’d be a good afternoon to do stuff like taxes and ironin’.
Ok, that’s all I got for now. More caffiene is needed and rumbly tummy demands to be fed. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.
Pfffft - you can’t fool me - I know all you gummint contractor types make buttloads of money. You forget - I’m married to one… Anyway, even if you were considering that house, I’d advise against it. First off, Rt 5 runs along the side of the lot. Second, the stop sign that’s on the corner of St. Thomas and 5 has been hit more than once by idiot drivers, several of which have wound up in the front yard of that house. Third, you just know if you had 3 acres that VWife would want to turn part of it into a rescue preserve for assorted critters… Besides, you’d always be coming over to borrow a cup of salt or a scoop of laundry detergent or our riding mower or any other silly pretense for you to bask in my presence. Nope, that wouldn’t do at all…
Good morning, folkses!! It’s an overcast Sunday, with rain and/or snow on the way. *ick. *I see a fire being built before too long and I expect to pretty much waste the day with non-productive chores and stuff. I’ve already started with some leftover PapaJohn’s for breakfast. yum!
That’s all I’ve got. Obviously the lack of chocolate in my bloodstream is sapping my creative process…
Morning everyone. The psycho dogs decided that 6:30 would be a good time to get up. I held off until 7 but they got persistent. I showed them though. I locked them outside while I cleaned the kitchen and dining room. THEN I gave them breakfast. Silly pooches thinking they get fed early just because they make me get up early.
The Terrible Iggy Dammit decided to see what was inside our comforter so now I need to take a trip to Worcester to get another one from Savers. Sweetie wanted to buy a nice one from a regular store but I refuse to spend that much money on something that will be slept on and chewed by dogs. When the Little Black Dog decides to stop being a destructive little cretin, we’ll get nice stuff. Until then, it’s Savers for me!!
I have a conundrum though. Tomorrow is a holiday. That means 50% off. My mom is a club member which means she gets the holiday savings the night before. But, I don’t want to wait until tonight or tomorrow to get a new comforter because I’m doing linens today and don’t want to put a dirty and chewed comforter back on the clean sheets so I’d rather go this morning.
Didn’t read yesterday. Skimmed. rosie’s sig where applicable.
I have a dentist appointment tomorrow in the morning and then a coffee date in the afternoon. I’m trying to conserve gas, so I may have to reschedule the coffee.
I thought I wasn’t going to have time for breakfast before deheathenization, but
Ok nevermind. As I was typing this Culinary Boy texted me three times. I guess I don’t have time to eat because I have to go get him and we’ll both deheathenize. I will turn that boy Lutheran*. It is my goal.
*Although I am planning on descending on a Whiskypalian church in the near future because I’ve been interested in that ever since I worked on their papers at ECU. Although I may burst into flames since Their Preisiding Bishop got prank-called when she was staying at my irk when Widepread Drug Use, er, Panic was in town. :smack:
Belated happies, Filbert - I hope you managed to get a bit of enjoyment out of your day.
Nice wheels, Rebo, next time are you aiming for a car that’s taller then you are?
Swampy, girlie shopping did necessitate the purchase of an outfit that will make Van Halen collectively weep, I hope they’re ready for it.
I debated the jammies and telly option, and the chores option, and ended up combining the two. I have got my scruffs on because I’m not planning to leave the house, therefore I also didn’t bother washing my hair today and am officially a slob.
I have watched both parts of the adaptation of Sebastian Faulks’ “Birdsong” which (whilst being visually beautiful) was every bit as tedious as I remember the book being. In between this, I have so far re-potted three plants, cleaned the kitchen sink, drainer and windowsill, vacuumed the floors, changed the bedding, done laundry, made soup (one portion for lunch, two for the freezer) and following a surprise text from my Fat Club leader I am also making a lemon cake for Tuesday night. Apparently there’s a taster night that I wasn’t aware of so that has resulted in emergency baking.
I still have a job application to complete and I promised myself half an hour on the Wii today too. After that, I’ll be having a bath and vegging on the sofa for the rest of the evening.
Hee. As long as you weren’t the prank caller, Spaz, I’m pretty sure you’re safe. Also, I’m guessing she has a sense of humor, because, well…it’s a survival mechanism.
Sounds like a very sensible strategy for not repeatedly throwing money away on comforters, shortdrum. Glad you’re seeing changes that make it sound like the gym membership and diet changes are paying off.
Those babies are way too cute, LiLi. Snuggle them for me and hug their big brothers as well.
Belated Happy Birthday, Nut.
Sounds like you’re coping admirably with way too much, Kanga. Hang in there.
Did a lot of vegging yesterday and then went out to good Chinese for dinner and then to the Mexican grocery where we bought carnitas that smelled so good that we were sad that we’d already had dinner. We’re having them for brunch today along with leftover Chinese.
I’ve been organizing pictures and getting them uploaded.
Also, trying to do some cleaning and organizing since the electrician is coming tomorrow morning. (Did I mention that a circuit died earlier in the week? It’s quite annoying not to have electricity everywhere. It’s the oldest circuit and needed to be redone eventually anyway, so I’m guessing that unless there’s a fairly obvious fix, it will be cheaper to just re-do it.)
Mom, yeah. For weeks, we have had kindergarten registration scheduled at our district for last Friday from 2PM to 7PM. I told HER weeks ago that I’d be home late that night. My role in the process was as people came in to verify their residency (tax bill, mortgage statement, etc..), verify that their address was in the district and send them on to lovely Annette who would guide them to an open registrar.
Yes, Annette is lovely, but I digress.
On Thursday I reminded her again I would be home late, as several of us at the ‘command’ of our superintendent would be having a post registration beverage.
I made it home around 9 to HER not speaking to me, accusing me of lying about where I was, not telling her I would be late, etc…
Yesterday, she apparently at some point found the previous weeks’ e-mails, and felt some contrition. We hashed it out today but I spent a good part of yesterday giving her BACK the silent treatment. We’re fun that way.
