CatDude next time hire a plan to fly over the house with a banner that says, “I’ll Be Late Tonight”, then hire a GorillaGram to come to the house and deliver the message “I’ll Be Late Tonight”, then text her repeatedly throughout the day “I’ll Be Late Tonight” and, just to be safe, take out a newspaper ad that says “I’ll Be Late Tonight” and see if the local tv station will run a little ticker throughout the day that says. “CatDude Will Be Late Tonight.” That should be enough reminders right?
Home from deheathenization and N.O.L. We went to KFC and got their buffet. Why do I do that? I like the original recipe chikin but never like the other stuff on the buffet. However, once in a while we forget that little fact (OYKW is not overly fond of the buffet either) and go to KFC cause it’s really convenient from the church house to da cave.
‘Tis overcast and rains off and on. A good afternoon for a nappy poo and perhaps to finish up ironin’ shirts.
I was up around 7:00 am, which is sleeping in for me.
Made some coffee, cruised the 'net while drinking said coffee, unloaded the dishwasher and made some brekkies for husband and I. I made bacon and eggs in a nest. We’ve finished eating, so I shall load up the dishwasher again, handwash the dishes that need handwashing, and move on to other chores.
It’s gray and overcast, and it’s pretty much supposed to rain all week long.
Aaaaaaah Sunday. I love Sundays. It is a beautiful spring like sunshiny but cool day here today. We have been for brekkie and hit up Lowes and Target and that is about it.
Last night we went and saw the Mamma Mia stage show which was super fun.
Yesterday we went and got a smoker that **mr ems[/B is currently putting together. Next week there will be smoked pork butt
Cornish game hens with apricot/balsamic glaze and roasted veggies for supper tonight. I may nap this afternoon also
waves Did y’all miss me?
I had a absolutely AWESOMESAUCE time all weekend, enjoyed seeing & spending time with my family on Friday.Had a mani-pedi (I less than three pedicures!) Then got to visit with my Aunt & Uncle & went out to dinner with them & my folks & da hubby at a very tasty thai place. Saturday was the big day, acourse & we had a beautiful wedding. I’m so happy. I got to dance & the cake & evrything was so nice & Yes, there are pictures! I’ll get them posted ASAP. Had a faboo honeymoon too. A nice dinner out at a very off the wall italian place (it looked like Rome threw up! & then back to the hotel for champagne and a soak in our own private jacuzzi. Then deleted deleted deleted
Happy wedding Janis!!! Hurry up with the pictures dangit. You’ve been married for a day now, there’s no excuse for this kind of delay!!
Well, I made the decision to forgo the sale and get to Savers in the AM and get back home to clean some more. When I got there, I saw my mom and stepdad sitting in their car in the parking lot. The look of joy on my mom’s face when I knocked on her window was nice. She then told me that the members get the sale ALL DAY on Sunday AND Monday so she went in with me so I could use her card.
I got 4 or 5 lap blankets (soon to become dog blankets since they always steal our blankets) and a new comforter for the spare bed. For our bed I got a very pretty and heavy comforter for now and a manly and lighter weight comforter for the summer. I spent $54 which means I saved $54 too and the heavy comforter alone probably would have cost $200 or more at a new-stuff store.
I took my mumsey home with me and she kept me company while I cleaned. Sweetie will be so happy when he gets home. There is NO WAY IN HELL that he can come home from work and be depressed because the house isn’t clean. When he gets his days off this week he can actually sit and relax for once.
Of course spending all this time cleaning means that I didn’t do any homework but that’s ok. I have time for that too.
Congratulations,** Pearl! ** Can’t wait to see the pics.
You’ve certainly been busy, short drum! I really need new comforters too. It sounds like you’ve got quite a good deal! The comforter set for my bed was pretty dang spendy, even for Costco, so I’m having a hard time justifying spending the money on a new one. It’s one of jacquard comforters and was quite beautiful when I got it way back in 2003. However, between our dog who died, and the two dogs I have now, it’s seen better days. Their claws have pilled the finish on it. When I do finally break down and get a new comforter, it won’t be one with that finish.
I’ve washed the dishes and tidied the kitchen. I should do some laundry and run the vacuum too. My poor kitchen floor needs a serious washing, but I just hate to put all that effort into it because the dogs will just track it up again from going outside. Since the weather is icky, I just don’t see the point in doing it at the moment.
Hey FCM this just came across my newspager:
*MD| St. Mary’s| Mechanicsville| Water Rescue| 27290 Holly Ln & sand gate marina | FD O/S with a vehicle fully submerged in the water with entrapment. Initial dispatch was for a MVA. M/A dive teams to the scene. | <C> BNN | BNNDESK/MDS004 | #460708

Okay apparently unoccupied. That’s good.

Taters - I have always loved nice comforters but after my dogs destroyed the really nice and heavy king size denim Eddie Bauer one that my mom gave me back in '98 (they destroyed it around 2010), I decided that I couldn’t justify spending the money on something so nice and new. Imagine my surprise when the one I got at Savers for $7 (50% for a holiday!) was a name brand that went for over $300 brand new and still looked brand new. Unfortunately that is the one that was recently dissected by his royal highn-ass. I spent $14 today for my bed and I have a winter and summer comforter now.
The cats are being very needy today. First KatyCat demanded her tribute of Many Pettin’s and then I get home and Mysterio El Malo Gato demanded *his *tribute.
Now I have fresh-squeezed orange juice from a fresh Florida orange. I got this orange because Night Audit Lady was in the hospital with pneumonia last week. It’s a long, convoluted tale, but the juice is oh-so-good and pulp free!
I’m gettin’ hongry but don’t know what I want. Maybe a grilled cheese. I could heat up some lasagna but I’m savin’ that for Tuesday’s dindin. Tomorrow is men’s night over to the church house so tomorrow’s dindin is already taken care of. Matter of fact steaks are marinatin’ as I post. I hate makin’ hard decisions like whether or not I want a grilled cheese sammich.
Belated thanks for belated birthday wishes I shall try and get hold of a time machine, tell my past self, and make her have a better day cos o’ them!
Actually slept properly last night, for the first time in ages, and feeling quite a bit better and more able to walk today, hope it sticks, even if I did just order a load more dvd type entertainment…
Slight downside for the day was discovering one of my baby axolotyls is dead- my housemate had said she was keeping an eye on them as I was finding it too hard to do (they’re up on a cupboard I can’t really reach easily at the moment)- she said yesterday that she’d checked, and they still had a fair bit of live food left. They didn’t have any at all, and it looked like it’d starved, which takes at least a week, though there were still a few bags full of live food in the fridge. I still have 5 of them that look OK, if very hungry, but that one was perfectly healthy before, and there was no reason it should have died. If she’d hadn’t said she was checking on them, I would have done more to try and do it myself, but I thought it was sorted…
Bah.
And yeah, it’s been 4 hours, where are the pictures?!? Hope you had an awesome wedding Janis!
Nuts I am assumin’ you’re talkin’ about a fish. A fish that eats live food. That makes me a little
Ok, so I decided on a grilled cheese sammich. First I had a lot of trouble tryin’ to untie the twist tie thingy on the bread. Then I had trouble gettin’ three different kinds of cheese out of their respective packages (mozzarella, jack and cheddar). Then I dropped the butter. It’s a major miracle that I survived the actual cookin’ of the sammich without third degree burns and burnin’ down da cave.
I had fish that eat other fish. They are all dead now. The power outage was the final straw. We’d go out and get fifty feeder fish every week or so, in addition to giving the pellets or brine shrimp.
I wish the rest of the damn fish would die. I’m sick of my husband’s tank.
Yay, Pearl!!! Like others, I am looking forward to the photos, but not the ones **BBBobbio **wants to see because I’m not a perv like he is.
**Tugig **- According to Google maps, that marina is 8-10 miles from me, depending on which way you go. It’s in the same Zip code, but I’ve never been there.
We had to make an emergency run to Petco for a new aquarium heater. One of ours died and the other wasn’t powerful enough to keep the system warm. So we’ve now got 500 Watts of heating power bringing the temp back up. It was raining/snowing, but mainly just wet and icky out there. I fear a freeze tonight - glad neither of us has to go anywhere tomorrow.
My supper was leftover PapaJohn, and **FCD **wanted french toast, so I whipped up a few slices for him. I’m about to resume the afghaning position - I should get this one done tonight. I love patterns that go fast!
And on that note, I shall bid you all a good night and I can’t wait to see who starts us off tomorrow!
Well dang! Flooding is predicted on Kinchafoonee Creek Tuesday evenin’ and Wednesday. If it reaches flood stage it messes up my drive to irk. There’s a bridge and if it gets flooded it turns my 10 mile drive to irk into a 30 mile drive to irk. ICK!
