Da Hitchin' MMP

Crossing the living room yesterday I realized…

We still have our pumpkin.

Only it’s not a yellow one, more of a drab green one really. But it’s from Halloween and it hasn’t rotted or anything, I checked. Pumpkins, I guess they’re like the Hostess Twinkie of vined vegetables.

Afternoon all.

Bebbies are cute and also tiny LiLi. I am so glad they are home.

I am 4 1/2 hours into my monthly 9 hour conf call from hell. As soon as it is doen I am leaving work early. Brain is fried.

I left work at a reasonable hour yesterday and it was still daylight out when I got home and it was 60 degrees do I took myself for a short walk. My plan is to do the same tonight. I am going to have a fancy frock to get into for my sisters wedding so the diet/exercise program is back on. I have foudn somewhere on the way home from work that has a pool that does water aerobics at a time that I can make after work. This will be good for knee so I am also headed there to sign up for classes.

Slinky dress here we come!

gotti maybes you should slap someone with the instructions/procedures?

Hey y’all! Firstly, the twins are just beautiful, LiLi and hoping that all is going well now that they’re home.

Albuquerque had snow yesterday! The amount varied wildly, though, depending on where you live in the greater ABQ metro area; we live near the foothills of the Sandia and I tell you there was 3-4 inches on the ground yesterday morning. A lot of it is melting quickly, though, so it should be gone in a day or two. I dunno, though - the snow back in December lasted a heck of a long time, with dirty piles of icy snow still laying about 3-4 weeks later!!

I haven’t called my Dad yet - he’s either happy as a clam (LOL) or he’s going into a depressive cycle ( :(), because his friend left yesterday. I just hope that he can be happy.

I’ve done my federal taxes, believe it or not, and actually already have my refund. Now, however, I have to file state taxes - for two states (MD & NM). I think I’ll probably get a refund from MD but will likely owe to NM so hopefully it will all balance out. Hopefully. Doing part-year returns is most definitely NOT fun, though.

I have been reading and following folks, and have to send Rosie’s .sig to any and all. Happy Thursday - it is Thursday, right?

Well, I’m impressed with the infirmary. I stopped in at 8am and could have had an appointment for 9:30 but I have a class then. So, I got one at 1. I showed up at 12:30 and the nice doctor took me right away.
It’s possible that all it is is a headache caused by a pinched nerve or pulled muscle in my neck.

However, the doctor said that in my case, it’s more likely that it’s a pseudo-tumor. I’ve been at risk for one for 7 years, ever since an eye doctor first noticed that my optic discs bulge. Since I’m an overweight female with PCOS and on birth control, I have 4 of the risk factors. The bulging discs were the only symptom - until this month-long headache that is.

So, I got prescriptions for a diuretic (which will reduce the pressure of my cerebrospinal fluid, if that’s what is causing the bulging). Another prescription is for migraine medicine in case the pain gets as bad as it was last night. Orders for an MRI and blood work. Referral for a neurologist who will then decide if I need to have a spinal tap. I also have to keep a headache diary for a month and then go see her again once I’ve done all this stuff.

**tarra **- I’m with you on the part-year returns. We dealt with that moving from FL to VA, from VA to FL, then from FL to MD. Plus **FCD **was a MD resident for 2 years before I moved up here. I’m so glad we’re staying put!

Speaking of FCD, he came home early, just as I was sorting thru his clothes. I’ve been bugging him to get rid of stuff he doesn’t wear, and we’ve managed to fill 4 garbage bags!! No, I’m not throwing the clothes in the trash - they’re being donated, and someone somewhere is in for some nice clothes. There are shirts and pants he wore maybe once?? Meanwhile, he’s kept 16 turtlenecks and at least 2 dozen t-shirts, plus he has 10 pairs of cargo shorts - turns out I didn’t need to buy him 4 pair before our cruise - he had 6 pairs in his drawer!!! I did manage to get him down to half a dozen sweaters, and he got rid of all the bowling shirts from his Two and a Half Men phase…

Looks like tomorrow I’ll be taking them to a donation center. And now I have to find homes for a metric buttload of hangers…

It’s raining, and my baby girl should be here soon. There’s a nice toasty fire going. Life is good.

Howdy Y’all! Thanks to the magic of a slow cooker which cooked whilst I slept we had pot roast with baby carrots and N.O.T. for dindin. All I had to do was heat it up and make some baby cornbread muffins. MMMMMMM… OYKW had to eat and run cause he’s got paperirk stuff to catch up on, poor thing.

Irk was pretty much ok. Much less whinin’ today. I did notice some things that need to be done are beginnin’ to get done whilst lookin’ at electronic files today. Maybe I am a good influence after all.

shortdrum glad you’re on your way to findin’ out what’s wrong.

I must do taxes soon. No reason to put ‘em off except I hate doin’ 'em.

BooFae I fully believe you could be the reason the band has a big fight on stage and breaks up over who gets to be smitten with you.

lieu I wouldn’t be makin’ any punkin pies with it. Just sayin’.

mmmmmms you do realize that Bobbio, Doggio and/or CatDude will be along shortly to demand pics in a slinky dress, right?

gotti you could take your written instructions to whoever and say, “RTFP, morons!” I’d love to have uverse so I am jealous.

giggity try to capture my left profile. It’s my best side. :stuck_out_tongue:

Does somebody need a talking to??

Glad to hear you’re on the right track, congo.

Hurray for me! I have two papers due Saturday at midnight and I just finished and submitted one of them. Yay!!!

Now I guess I’d better get back to work on the other one.

I killed the MMP and now I’m going to bed.

Wrongo!

Hello there my lovelies. It’s been a hell of a week. I’ve been kind of lurking, but haven’t really kept up real well.

So, hugs, kisses, 'grats as needed or wanted.

I need to do my taxes too, but since I was burned so badly last year, I’m really gun shy this year. I know I need to buck up and just do them. Seeing as how I’ve got a three day weekend coming, I’ll probably attempt to do them sometime between Saturday and Monday. Most likely, I’ll do them Monday because my husband will be at work and it’s just easier to do them when he’s not here.

Well, I’ve got laundry to toss in the dryer. The chores; they never end. Why can’t my house and clothes just magically clean themselves? I don’t ask for much…

Today was a fun afternoon at work. We are having ‘Engineering Week.’ It was the annual service awards, patent awards, blah blah blah… I got to stand up for my 15th anniversary with my picture up on the wall. The 20+ service awards got roasted - very funny stuff!

We also got to bowl, and shoot pool, and drink and play arcade games - all on the company’s dime! It was a hoot.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 57 degrees Amurrkin out with a predicted high of <snerk> 69! <snerk> Not bad for a Firday in February.

Rebo sounds like fun! Did you offer to autograph the picture for a modest fee?

StickyBuns when it comes to taxes a good talkin’ to might help. I know I’ll get a refund so that should be motivation enough right? I just hate doin’ 'em!

Now I shall seek more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence. I have survived the first week of the new gig. RAH!

Happy Firday Y’all!

I’m up early and the baked potatoes are in the oven! There’s nothing quite like the smell of 20 or more potatoes baking at the same time.

I’m so happy that I got so much work done last night. I know I’ll sound like a major geek for saying this, but I LOVE a good rubric! They just make your life so much easier.

I’m looking forward to a great day. Hope you are, too!

Woke up too early, hope to nap again before 9am. The defense attorney was ill yesterday so the trial was cancelled for the day and we had a short day. Now we get to work Saturday.

And if it runs past Saturday because of the holiday it won"t restart until next Wednesday.

So I might be back. Don’t know.

And we were warned of a possible big snow storm Sunday, so we’ve been ordered to pack up our cables. Not a big deal, but a pain in the ass unthreading my 300’ cables from everyone else’s.

Yawn

There’s nothing like waking up exhausted because you were running around in your dreams all night. My slumber drama involved me having to go on travel for work, forgetting my orders and my tickets, not having anyone’s phone numbers, getting stuck with returning the golf cart to the car rental desk, trying to find a stall in the ladies’ room that had TP, getting back to the house where I’d left my luggage, all in an attempt to get home! I feel like I did all the stuff in the dream and I’m beat! ugh

I’ve got to empty the dishwasher today - I kinda blew that off yesterday - and I’ve got 4 bags of **FCD **duds to take to a donation center. I may start with some laundry. Or I may go back to bed. Too many decisions for this hour of the morning…

On the plus side, my sweetie might have 3 days off - it kinda depends on what goes on at work today. They’ve got a deadline that’s kicking his butt because other people couldn’t be bothered to follow procedures. So we’ll see if I get him on Monday or not.

Other than that, just another day in paradise. Happy Firday, all!

PS - swampy, get your bear ass in gear and do your taxes, dammit!!! <insert The Look here>

I’ve heard some pretty good things about it - certainly much better than I’ve ever heard about the cable TV company.

Let’s all celebrate for today we have BEANWAD chili! :p:D

Beanwad?? That sounds somewhat, um, unique…

It’s not yet 11 and I’ve manged to make and eat breakfast, shower, dress, get a load in the washer, empty and refill the dishwasher, and clean the cats’ box. It’s supposed to warm to the mid 50s this afternoon, and I’m thinking about going outside with a rake and cleaning up the garden in front of the house. Maybe.

I’m still kinda tired, tho, from my bizarro dream. And I didn’t even drink last night!!

It feel like it must be at least 6pm and it’s not even noon yet!! I’m not sure I like this getting up early on a day off thing. Dang dogs got me up at 4:40 and then again at 8. I feel like I’ve been up forever and I’m tempted to go back to sleep.
Beanwad chili sounds inappropriate. What is it?

I’d love to smell 20 NOTs baking at the same time. My oven isn’t big enough though.
I want coffee but we have no half&half or milk (for which Sweetie will be getting an ass kicking when he gets home since he’s the one who insisted we didn’t need any and then went off for an overnight job, leaving me with no money.)
My headache is pissing me off. It’s hugely improved. It barely hurts. WTF? Why does it hurt endlessly for a month and then start getting better after I see the doctor? I haven’t even filled my prescriptions yet (the no money thing again)!
I am so glad that Sweetie’s taxes are already done. It’s nice to have a bit of extra money in the bank.

Beanwad? I think I’m going to yell that at the next guy that cuts me off in traffic.

We used to have Friday at 4:00 at work where everyone would go down to the [del]quarry[/del] lobby, drink a keg beer and socialize. The we gots bought by a big, grumpy parent company and Friday at 4:00 went away. That was a big assed bummer.

Taxes… I can’t believe it’s time for taxes again. Seems like the accountant just left and here we gots an appointment for him to come over again. Mind you he makes it easy, just not cheap.

Taxes are such a… beanwad.
