Da Hitchin' MMP

Hello, Friday - how nice of you to come and visit!

I am almost ready to go home, and tonight we’re off to see a band called Alestorm at a small local venue. Should be a giggle, especially as it’s a sold-out performance. Mind you, if you got 100 people in the venue it would be crowded…

'im indoors is off to visit his family for the rest of the weekend which means I am home alone for a couple of days. Naturally that means I must go and do girlie shopping stuff with my bestest friend on Saturday, and probably spend Sunday lounging around in my jammies watching rubbish telly all day.

Or I might get all domestic and do some chores. Which one do you think is most likely?

okay - now I’m curious, too. “Beanwad”?

Beanstorm… that’d make a good chili name.

**BooFae **Jammies & telly FTW!

Now, I am getting ready to go. Spending my last night as a single gal with my family. See y’all Sunday, will have brand new wedding stories then!!!
Ex’s and Oh’s to all!

**lieu **- you’re right - *Beanwad *is the perfect thing to hurl at idiot drivers. *Cheeselog *is another good one - we’ve used that for year.

I just finished scanning a few pages of my eighth grade “yearbook” which is actually a stapled booklet of mimeographed pages, some of which are fading away. I’m going to send the .pdf to my eighth grade dance date! He even signed it for me, and I had to copy his autograph. Cracked me up - it should also give him a laugh.

Third load of laundry in the washer, second in the dryer. I’m so efficient! No beanwads here!

band name!

It’s Friday. Whoohoo! I missed ya welcome back.

I survived the monthly conference call from hell yesterday but believe it or not I have a review of that review scheduled in an hour.

Other than that it is all quiet here. Oh we are going to see Mamma Mia tomorrrow and I can’t wait. Yes I will be singing tunelessly along for the entire show.

Hee!!! If you google beanwad chili the MMP is the first entry. HEE!!!

Well, it amused me! Howdy Y’all! I have survived my first week at new irk. To celebrate Papa John’s is makin’ dindin and Miller is providin’ the beerverages. Also, for the first time ever in my life, I have President’s Day off as an official holiday! So, one week of the new gig and I get a holiday. Ain’t too shabby!

Happy Hitchin’ Pearl!

BooFae is this girlie shoppin’ for the outfit that will contribute to the break up of Van Halen?

Had Chinese food from a hole-in-the-wall joint near the Lair. I have a cookie fortune for your entertainment:
You will make many changes before settling satisfactorily.

Y’all know what to do.

Know what you shouldn’t do when it’s so cold in the garage you can’t feel your fingers?
Sand small parts on the power sander, that’s what.
Sanded the tip off my left index finger, I did. Not a lot, but it sure is sore now.
Luckily I looked down and wondered “Why is there blood on that piece of wood?” before I took very much off. Mostly the top of my fingernail and a little bit of skin.

Making jambalaya this afternoon for a Mardi Gras party tonight. What wine goes with Jambalaya?

Congratulations on babbies and weddings and new jobs and surviving the week and whatnot to everybody!

Later.

You will make many changes before settling satisfactorily.
in bed!<snerk>

The girls are doing fine. Mr. Lissar is kind of tired and sick, so I may send him to the spare room tonight so he can maybe get most of a night’s sleep, without the lights on and being woken up lots and lots.

Nursing twins is the world’s most effective weight-loss programme. I’m getting a little worried- I’ve lost five pounds in three days. I think I need to eat more or I’m going to be transparent in a month.
Tired but not as tired as I thought I’d be.

Oh, yes- anyone have any suggestions for dead-easy recipes that have lots of vegetables in them? That taste good? We’re falling down on the eating-any-vegetables front right now. I mean dead-easy, because I can’t grocery shop for another few weeks, so we’re mostly relying on frozen or canned, and no one has much energy for prep.

boil, then remove from heat, the contents of a bag of frozen veggie mix
pour water from cooking vessel
add favorite pasta sauce to cooking vessel
when pasta sauce is perfect eating temperature, dump in the veggie mix
stir to combine until whole thing is the right temperature.
Serve over rice or pasta, or eat as is.
eta - hmm. now I’m hungry.

**LiLi **- one of my favorite quick-n-easy veggie dishes is to cook up some yellow rice and mix in a bag of mixed veggies. I’ve also added cooked meat or fake crab but it works with just veggies. It’s especially good with a mix of broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots. I throw in onions also, but I know your husband is an anti-onion mutant… I’ve done similar things with PastaRoni mixes and veggies - especially the cheesy ones.

We went to Texas Roadhouse for supper and it was good. Call ahead seating is genius!! We got our table within 10 minutes while the wait was up to 55 minutes. So yay!

I’m now going to assume the knit position.

Good night to you all! MWAH!

BBBobbio re your fortune… what rosie said.

LiLi glad the girls are doin’ fine. You might also wanna check out the mumper recipe blog for some veggie recipes. I dare say there’s some there that will work.

Bumba yikes! Also since true jambalaya contains both meat and shellfish, white or red will do IMO. Or just get some ripple. Ripple goes with anything.

Also, pizza good. Beerverages good. Bear “appreciation” gooooooooooooooood!!!

Howzzat for some TMI? :stuck_out_tongue:

On that note, da bear is goin’ nitey nite.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

-swampbear (at risk of smiley abuse again) :o

I r a tadly bit drink hence drkn post. I hate my job which morphed to let’s get silly tonight!

Veggies recipes we steam or roast whatever we have on hand. Babies look super awesome! So glad they ere home and eating like hawgs!

Oooh, LiLi, the bebes look great - glad to hear that all is going well too. We too are into roasting root veggies lately; I don’t bother to peel them, just chop them up and roast them, then I like to eat them with brown rice and maybe a bit of cheese on top. The packaged broccoli/cauliflower/carrot mix works well with rice or pasta, with a bit of cheese melted on top too.

It’s reasonable here, weather-wise; the snow from the other day is mostly melted and this last storm went completely to the south of us. I am really liking the southwest, which is not something I thought I’d ever be saying. LOL Maybe it’s just Albuquerque itself? I love being near the mountains, though.

Hope everyone who can enjoys the President’s day holiday on Monday.

Hi, everybody! [waves]

I fell of the planet for the last week or so, but I have good reason.

Bad news: Phoukabro Major was laid off and has to move in with me and the phoukarents.
Good news: Dad responds much better to bro’s male presence than to my female presence.

Bad news: Bro needs a bedroom of his own, so someone’s going to have to give up their bedroom (parents have slept in separate bedrooms for 10+ years owing to severely incompatible sleep styles).
Good news: It’s agreed that Dad will move up into the master bedroom with Mom. My room is safe!

Bad news: On the Day of Moving Stuff, Dad throws a Super Sulk. He does not want to give up his room. He is “in mourning”. Mom is Super Pissed. She asks me if I’ll give up my bedroom (the one I painted, put in a new closet “system”, and bought, painted, and hung new closet doors for). I say yes. (What the hell else am I going to say to my mom? Please.)
Good news: Mom is totally relieved, because I “make a much better roommate than your father”. Dad is mollified. Bro is totally satisfied with my room and says he will appreciate the closet doors as they deserve.

Bad news: I have nasty sinus infection that becomes chest cold.
Good news: I don’t have to go to the doctor, as the hot showers, Mucinex D, herbal teas, humidifier, and gallons of water appear to have done the trick.

Good news: I got to go to a workshop on the brain on Monday. I love the brain.

Good news: I got my first counseling session set up.

Anyone ever experienced the incredible validation of your counselor saying “well, you clearly have a great deal going on in your life,” after explaining your life to them? Did I mention it was validating?

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 50 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 64 and rain this afternoon, tonight and tomorrow. Let it rain I say. We got nuttin’ major planned.

kanga that’s a lotta stuff goin’ on. Sorry you had to give up your room and sorry about bro bein’ laid (layed?) off. Hope he finds sump’n soon. Yay for the counselin’ session. It does feel good to hear that one’s problems etc are real and that there are ways to work through 'em or at least cope with 'em.

mmmmmmms ARE YOU HUNGOVER TODAY???

Now I need more caffiene. I’ll hold off on brekkie for a bit cause OYKW is still abed and as everyone knows the smell of fryin’ bacon (while fully clothed thankyouverymuch) is a wake up call like no otoher. He needs his sleep poor thing.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!
