Dallas-Ft. Worth Dopers: Do it to me one more time...

…then again maybe not.

BTW Zyada, with 2 to 3 weeks’ notice I can put together a batch of DFWDope Wally buttons for you if you want. Email me, dahlink.

Ooh, Blue Mesa is soooooo good… I go to the one on NW Highway whenever I can come up with a good excuse…

Grace, cara mia, I want to make it perfectly clear that I do not have to be at all desperate for company in order to want to have dinner with you.

Whipped cream and leather straps sound a little premeditated, though…I’d prefer to be able to tell myself afterward that I was swept up in the moment. wink

back to main topic

Hey! Let’s all go find a karaoke bar after dinner and laugh at each other! I LOOOOVE karaoke and usually only get to go on my once-a-year trip out of town.

For me daytime activities would have to be restricted to the 12th or 19th. I can make an evening get together on any of the suggested dates.

Sorry, I didn’t read the whole thread before I posted. I would be happy to recommend Fogo De Chao in Addison. It is mainly grilled meats, and an excellent salad bar. It is all you can eat, but it is a little spendy, $35 per person, cheaper if you go for the salad bar only. You can also feel free to tell me that I am out of my mind for suggesting it…

Karaoke sounds good to me. I’ve only been to a karaoke bar once and I had a great time.

So did we agree on Addison or should someone else make some suggestions? SkySlash, where do you want to go?

Hey Adam, what else does Fogo de Chao serve? I’ve driven by it many times and have always wanted to try it but too chicken to go in without knowing in advance what kind of food they had.

Okay, I think I’ve got it. Leather straps…no. Boob accidentally falling out…yes. I think I can handle that. smooches right back at ya

Ummmm…I have this, uh, wierd condition where, um, if I get near a karaoke machine, my vocal chords actually harden. This prevents me from vocalizing any sounds. Yeah, that’s it. So, if we do karaoke, as much as I would love to sing, I won’t be able to. Damn. I SO wish I could.

Nice try Aglarond. To quote the movie Adventures in Babysitting “Nobody leaves this place without singing the blues.”

Well, I suffer from the same condition as Aglarond, except mine is even worse. I don’t even want to, besides not being able. But I’ll be glad to laugh at everyone else if the situation arises.

It’s been a while since I"ve been to Addison, but I’m sure any place will be fine with me.

Jim

SkySlash - Could you tell us why Addison is a problem? Maybe we can work something out.

Fogo de chao sounds like fun to me, if the price is a problem speak up.

Or we could go to Goldfingers (greek food). I promise you’ll enjoy the show. (Instead of embarrasing everyone with a karaoke machine)

And I’ve never done Karaoke, so that would be a trip, but guys, I want people to show up, so don’t get pushy on me, 'k?

To answer the question asked ever-so-long ago, yes I live in HEB. The B part of it.
I’ll have to think about going. I’m sure it’d be interesting, but I’d probably end up worming into a corner. I’m good at that.

Zoing - I live in Bedford as well, that’s why I asked.

Fogo de chao sounds delish, but $35 is way too steep for me. Mrs. Chef is draining the bank account to take with her on vacation. Can we try to keep it under $20 per person so I’ll have enough left to get Grace drunk?

Grace, if these spoilsports don’t want to do karaoke, we’ll just have to go by ourselves after dinner. We can duet on “Up Where We Belong” and end it on an open-mouth kiss. People will cheer, I guarantee it.

(wow! another Bedfordian!)

bumpety bump

I live in Burleson so its a hell of a drive for me…a little over an hour. But what am I bitching about…I live in Texas

Everythings an hour away!!!

So are we doin a bar, or are we doin’ a dinner? And on what day? and at what time? and…and…and…

-SS

can I come?

Brood! We’d love to have you.

SkySlash - glad to see you’re ok w/ Addison. It looks like dinner (maybe followed by a karaoke bar - tbd at dinner) on the 12th and we’re still hashing out where.

Chef - I was afraid that $35 would be a little steep for some of us.

I’m still plugging for Goldfingers - it’s a little farther south than Addison, just north of Northwest Hwy. In addition to greek food, they have steaks. Prices are in the $10 to $20 range. Of course, you know we have to go there sometime, with my teacher performing there on Saturday nights. (hint, hint) But I’d still rather have as many people show up as I can get. Comments?
