I had a feeling that $35 was a little on the steep side, but if you do get a chance go to Fogo De Chao, you will not be disapointed. But what the hey, I’ll eat anything.
Grace they serve various cuts of meat, sausage, chicken and pork. Waiters bring the meats around on skewars and carve it onto your plate. Like I said, they have an excellent salad bar, and they also have great desserts (I’d recommend the creme brule). And it is all you can eat.
Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. My throat’s been sore. Hard to type in that condition, you know. Talked to my doctor and he told me I shouldn’t do any singing for at least a month. Too bad.
Anyway, I’m going to drive the area tonight after work and see what all is out there. I’ll post tomorrow most likely and try to give a good indication of what’s available. For right now, though, I’m going to go look for something to soothe my throat.
OK, so I lied. WHAT? You think I’m talking about the throat thing? No. How could you? I’m talking about going to scout the area yesterday. Didn’t get around to it. OK, I forgot. But, I’m meeting a friend over there today after work for dinner, so I’ll have no excuses not to look around.
Anyway, all that stuff I said yesterday should be moved to today and apply to tomorrow. Or something. I think I’m going to go to sleep under my desk.
And an annoucement! The Traveling Falcon Show will be stopping in Dallas that weekend! Yep, I’m going to be in attendance. I have no preferences where we eat, since I know NOTHING about the area.
And zyada? I’m all for karaoke. I love to sing, and after one or two drinks, I’d be over my stage fright.
Woo HOO! Grace AND Falcon at the same party? I am gonna wish I had two mouths so I could do more smoochin’ at THIS DopeFest.
(I’m probably also going to wish I had some Novocain so it won’t hurt so much when they both start slapping me silly.)
And all you chickens who don’t want to do karaoke, FINE! No one is going to make you get up and sing. We’ll just have dinner first, and then the shrinking violets can go home and watch “Matlock” while us saxon violets go give all those Japanese businessmen some competition on the mike.
BTW, has anyone tried to get in touch with Sweetcan to see if she’s able to make it this time?
I realize we’re past the point of even choosing the activities and gone straight to the inevitable silliness, but is there any way we can move the gathering to the 19th?
I didn’t see any objections, just one other suggestion for that date. It’s a Saturday, which means most people (including me) don’t have to work the next day, plus traffic will be fairly relaxed for all concerned.
I’ve never been to a SD gathering, and would like to attend this one, but the 12th and 16th are right out. In fact, due to my extracurricular obligations, any night where the Rangers are playing a home game is right out.
Who says we can’t do both? I’m up for it. Heck, let’s make it a Straight Dopers goes to the ballpark event. Yeah!! We’ll drink beer, eat hot dogs, and watch Pudge in the dugout.
I’m up for a ballgame. Being outside and drinking beer are high on my priority list. The ballgame isn’t too distracting and I’ll get over the hotdogs by the next day.
Lurkers are always welcome. I assume you have been told that lurkers and newbies buying the first round. That may not be altogether true but you are still welcome to come.
