Don’t forget!

Argh! I’ve already forgotten twice in two days!
This is promising…
One good thing about living in Arizona … don’t have to remember when to set your clocks back or forward – they just stay the same all year 'round
Yeah, Mauvaise… except my idiot VCR clock, which diligently sets the time to Daylight Savings Time every fall and spring… argh.
I’m from Indiana where we don’t have DST. I’m in Vermont for college now and I’m excited about this.
Yes, I realize how pathetic that is.
But when I was a kid I saw an episode of “The Adventures of Pete and Pete” about Daylight Savings Time that had a really cool idea: once a year, you get a chance at a do-over. You get to live through one hour twice. If IIRC little Pete had some mad plan to ride his bike into the next time zone so that the Daylight Savings Time hour lasted three hours intead of two. And I was miserable because we never set our clocks back in Indiana.

My grandmother gets mad as hell about the spring forward version. “They have no right to take one hour of my life from me!” It is immaterial that she gets it back - that’s not the same, and what if she died during DST? That’s an hour she’d NEVER get back!
We’ve told her to move to Phoenix so she doesn’t have to go through it…
<picky>It’s Daylight Saving Time, no second S in the second word…</picky>
That’s better than the people who complain that we should never go on DST because God decided when the day should begin and end.
See a map of the USA’s time zone and the official time at www.time.gov. Click on your time zone to see what the official time is in your area.
You can change your vcr setup so it don’t update for savings time.
Ah, this is an old subject, the old daylight savings time & how it makes us feel. Maybe we should search & bring up the old topics so we can remember how we feel about it?
The week after we go off Daylight Savings Time is my favorite time of year. It’s the only week all year I get enough sleep and am on time for things. I start falling behind again after that.
Getting that hour back is almost worth the grief of losing it in the spring.
Yep. DST ends this weekend. You know what that means, don’t you?
Folks will be starting anti-DST thread like clockwork.
No, they usually do that in the spring when they lose an hour of sleep. (Now watch someone prove me wrong.)
No, they’ll be doing it week too. Some people can’t handle change of any kind.
ahem
this week
:sigh:
When I was younger, it was an excuse to stay at the bar an hour longer.
When is it going to occur? What should I do? Did I miss it already(October 26)? Does Florida do this thing too?
KarlGrenze: yes, Florida has this also (see Jab1’s link above for more. Also I am told that Europe is also changing over this weekend (they are not always aligned with the US). Change your clock early Sunday morning, from 2 am to 1 am, or just before you got to bed so you get that extra hour of sleep.
Most importantly, how’s everyone spending their extra hour?
I hope to be whooping it up at OhDope about then, although the plans for that particular time block are a bit unclear.
“Pete and Pete” was an awesome show! I don’t know why they got rid of it. It should’ve been on Prime-Time tv…jeez I’m childish.
what if you feed a gremlin during daylight savings time?
Even though I don’t have to deal with it in my real life I do have to deal with it in my TV life. All my cable shows will be starting … an hour … um … later … I think … I hope. sigh
