I feel grumpy this morning. I got home from last night’s performance at about 11.00pm, put the clocks forward and suddenly it was midnight. And I had to be up at 6.00 this morning.
I think a siesta is called for this afternoon.

Heh. Sorry I can’t sympathize. Here Daylight Savings ends on November 4th and we get to “fall back” so we get our hour back. Yay!
I get an extra hour tonight!
But instead of catching on sleep, I’ve stayed up late posting and listening to music. I bet I’ll still get up an hour early tomorrow too and end up more tired than before!
On a Sunday!?!? Bugger that for a game of soldiers.
I hate the hour forward, but I like the hour back. I have to wait another week for that, though.
Solution: Move to Arizona. We don’t observe Daylight time. We’re on Standard 365 days around. No loss of an hour in the spring. Nothing to gain back in the fall.
You have my sympathies, Cunctator. Our DST began at the beginning of this month. Took most of us around here about a week to get used to it. Quite enjoying the extra light when I’m on the way home now, though.
I’m saving my daylight savings for tomorrow, monday, then I can sleep an hour extra and wriggle my toes.
Oh, I’ll have to try to remember that for autumn 2008. Nice one!
Funny. My calendar says DST ends this weekend (Oct 28). I’m perfectly willing to believe it’s a misprint. It’s a dollar store calendar of famous golf courses. Hey, it’s a calendar.
Fortunately I’m in Arizona, so it doesn’t affect me, except to make TV schedules unpredictable.
Now that Indiana has moved to the Dark Side[sup]TM[/sup], you stand alone in your fight against Daylight Stupid Time. Lucky Bastard.
In MA, for some reason the date has been moved back a week. Everyone is mighty confused.
Now I’m confused. Do you mean that DST is now on Nov 4th this year like the rest of the country? Or is MA out of step with everyone else?
Whoa. I got freaked for a minute.
Here in the U.S., we’re not changing this weekend, right?
No, next weekend. And we’ll “gain” an hour, so to speak, since we’re setting ours back, not forward like our southern hemisphere friends.
(Ya weirdos, with your backwards seasons! Christmas belongs in winter with snow and such, not in summer with…not snow and such.)
MA was out of step? I dont think so, but I wasn’t sure so I went with what I knew. Well, it’s on the 4th regardless. Somebody sent me an article on this whole flippin’ deal, but I lost it.
I always find this site on world DST very useful. It’s even kept up with the play on changes to NZ and American DST this year.
Can sympathise! Up (really) 5.30 instead of 6.
And how bad are those bloody flies lately? Hopefully they’ll disappear as quickly as the moths did!
I prefer the end of Daylight Savings, as I work graveyards, and get to add an extra hour to my time card.
Of course, I LOSE an hour in the spring, but that’s OK.
DST is a pain in the ass. They should stop messing with the clock and leave everything on standard time all year.
