I will not be at the rally itself as I’m meeting someone and only have a couple of days to do so. I would be up for getting together for a beer or two afterwords if we know where we want to meet and when.

I’m definitely excited about it, as is my daughter. My husband still thinks we’re nuts, but he’s becoming a real grouch in his old age… 
Long range forecast seems to indicate great weather. I still haven’t decided if I’m going to do a sign or put my message on a shirt or a hat or what. But indecision is the key to flexibility, I always say.
I’m excited, for more reasons than the rally. I haven’t been to the city for 10 years or more, and I’m arranging some reunions with several old friends.
Is RFD Celtling-safe? It looks more bar than restaurant from the website. . .
I’m skimming on a handheld so may have missed it, but has a time/place for dinner been set? Typo Knig and I are considering going to that - can’t make the march/rally but would love to meet up with the gang.

I’ve been hoping some more folks would respond to my time suggestion of 4 PM. I guess we’ll go with that given the lack of objections. Ditto with RFD as a location.

There are two good reasons to let the rest of us know.

We’d like to be able to know when everybody has arrived at the Doper rally point, so we can move to the Stewart rally.

We’d like to have a reasonably solid number to make a reservation at the restaurant.
O.K., so that’s the restaurant RFD, which is at 810 7th Street NW in D.C. We’ll meet there at 4:00 PM on Saturday, October 30th. We might want to give each other our descriptions so that we don’t miss each other. You shouldn’t have any trouble finding me. I’m 4’11", have red hair, and wear glasses.
Jim, Unfortunately, for several reasons, I can’t make it to the rally, but will be at dinner.
So, take me off the list for the rally, but I am a definite for dinner, and add a +1 for dinner (me & a guest).
This is me (from the SDMB portrait gallery). I am a 34-year-old white female, 5 foot 7 inches, “a few extra pounds,” 
green eyes, with long brown hair, probably in a ponytail.
I will bring sticky labels and a Sharpie to make nametags, if you think that would be helpful.

Time – tell you what I’m gonna. I’m gonna be at our rally point at 9 AM. What I hope is that some other folks (FairyChatMom and Bosstone, I’m looking at you) will link up early, and you folks can head over to the Stewart location and stake out a place, and then send someone back or call back, with directions for folks who show up later.
I’m hoping we can keep a Doper at our rally point until 1100. If you’re arriving after that, call me on my cell and I’ll try my best to give you directions to find us.

I saw some pictures of the Mall on the Daily Show that made it look really pretty shitty – can we even sit down? Can anyone local bring a couple of blankets to spread out so we can pretend we’re having a picnic? Or should we just count on being on our feet the while time?

I’m not really the nametag type, but I don’t have any objections to them.
I’ll ask the kids if they want to attend. I seem to recall they wound up getting rather bored at the last Dope meal we went to. But definitely count Typo Knig and me in.
Is the restaurant open as early as 4 PM? A lot of the ones near the Verizon Center etc. don’t really open until 5 or 5:30.
Belay that last question - the web site (http://www.lovethebeer.com/rfd.html) says they’re open all day.
