I’ll mosey over to the gathering point as soon as we get there, altho I doubt that it’ll be as early as 9. Hard to tell. We’ve got something to do before we get to the Metro station, then we need to wait for the train to get there and however long it’ll take to get to the Mall station. But we’ll head to the gathering spot first.

I doubt that there will be seating. I’m figuring on standing. Still haven’t decided about a sign yet, but I will bring a trash bag to do a little cleanup after.

I need a little help.

Friday I’ll be driving to DC all day and unable to get to this thread. I’m hoping someone can track any late changes, and call RFD – maybe late Friday afternoon – and make a reservation, assuming they take reservations.

Traditionally, Dopefest reservations have been made in the name of Cecil Adams.

Tomorrow I’ll be doing a lot of prepping and packing, but I’ll try to get back here to do an update in the evening.

I expect to get on the road about 4 AM Friday. I’m gonna get off the road for a couple of hours in Dayton and take a quick tour of the Air Force Museum. :slight_smile:

Hmph. That’s a lot less Daily Show/Colbert Report material and a lot more random entertainer material than I expected. I’m a little disappointed.

A 4 pm dinner sounds fine, although the way this is shaping up I’ll have a lot less time to be a tourist than I expected.

FUCK! Stepped on a big rock in the dark and took a fall. Scraped the edge one hand pretty raw on the asphalt, gashed my face and scratched my glasses, and it feels like I have some damage to both knees but I haven’t taken my pants off yet. I suppose I’m lucky that my ankle seems ok.

I’m still coming but it’s not going nearly as pleasant a drive.

Have you made the reservations under the Cecil Adams name?

I called RFD, and they are NOT taking reservations… however, the girl I talked to said that it shouldn’t be too crowded at 4pm, and that we probably won’t have a problem. Although who knows, with tomorrow being the rally and all.

So, I would suggest that whoever gets there first puts a request in for a table under “Cecil Adams” so that when other people get there, we can ask the hostess for the Cecil Adams party, and that is how we can find each other.
