Well, now I’ve heard just about everything.
I guess watergate cake is a Midwest thing.

and I never heard of watergate cake.
We had this dessert we called “green stuff” that involved pistachio pudding (plus cool whip, crushed pineapple and mini-marshmellows–don’t knock it til you try it), but never heard of pistachio pudding cake.
BTW, Pun, wouldn’t green DIP be easier to manage than green chips…?
If the chips are green, the dip will be eventually!
About twenty years ago, there was a dish called “Watergate salad” that was frequently served by members of my family. I don’t know what the origin of the name was. We sometimes made jokes that it was so called because you had to cover it up. In any case, do a search on Google for either “watergate salad” or “watergate cake” and you’ll find many recipes for each.
Is there ANYTHING Wendell doesn’t know?! 
Watergate salad is “Green Stuff” salad…and it sounds like an awful mess (like Watergate) but it’s really quite tasty. My kingdom (okay, well a couple bucks anyway) for vegan marshmallows!
Amen Vegetarian Woman! I just discovered that the S’mores Pop Tarts are vegetarian, which is cause for celebration!
