Sorry this is late, but today is the day we are supposed to meet. Hope you have it in your datebook. Noon, 14th St. exit of the McPherson Square Metro Station.
I’m in. Is anyone else gonna come or is this the death-throes of our lunches?
Damn, is it that Friday already? Sure, I’m in. Ague, I didn’t know you were still in DC. Thought you’d escaped to Seattle permanently by now.
Dammit. I’m almost one of you now, I should know about this stuff.
Ginger, you here yet? I’m sure we might be able to arrange a “DC Saturday Coffee Klatch” or something in your honour.
If you are here, it didn’t take long at all to get your K-1, did it?
I’m here, on a visit-basis while the K-1 is still in the works.
Well, if I get this new job I interviewed for, I’ll be able to start making these lunches (assuming they are still being held) Hey, Ginger, welcome to DC!
Well, it’s about time we got some fresh blood. We just lost a bunch of regulars to inter- and transcontinental travel and we were BORED! We need new people.
Glad to be of service, you commie bastid!
Wellie, wellie, well. It’s almost that time again, and considering some people’s reactions to the last reminder, I figured I’d start this up right quick-like.
Who’s in?
Good news, everyone. As of yesterday, the US Gummint has decided that I’m not a threat to National Security and has said ‘Okay, you can marry a Merricun’. I have to go to Vancouver for the Canadian end of it, but now at least I don’t feel like an alien.
So. When is lunch?
Oooh. Vancouver. I had to go to the red-light district in Montreal.
Lunch is 12 noon at the 14th St. exit of the McPherson Square Metro station. From the Baltimore area, hm. Take 95 S to the Beltway, then, I guess, take an exit that leads you to a Metro stop. Unfortunately, I’m not too familiar with any of the stops off the Red Line, so hopefully, someone will be around soon with something a tad more descriptive than that.
Even more fun, I’m off work on Friday at noon for the holiday weekend, so there’s plenty o’ time to Get To Know Ginger! (If she’s amenable to the idea, of course).
<mock growl> Wanna clarify that last statement, Auggie???</mock growl>
Hey. Whoa. Step back, there, sport. I’m a married man. What’s that behind your back?
Hem. I merely - solely in the interests of international cooperation - hoped to provide your lovely bride-to-be with an introduction to the National Capital area, from the eyes of a fellow expat. And, of course, to weedle her recipe for shortbread from her.
Hey, wait a minute…I’m not Auggie. Well. Someone’s got a lot to answer for, I’ll tell you what.
Unfortunately they haven’t let me into the outside world yet – maybe next time.

Wow,
It’s theoretically possible that I will be able to make it to McPhersons Square at not too long after Noon.
I will be arriving at Vienna Metro at 11:30
With a perfect connection, I could be at the designated spot shortly after Twelve.
Now, I can’t expect anyone to wait, but if folks could agree on a where for the actual eating and socializing, I could just sprint on over there, and look for Dopish looking people.

Okay, I’ve avoided this for far too long… I’m in DC, I’m a Doper and, gosh darnit, people like me.
So what’s the when/where of the latest DC Lunch Bunch gathering. My schedule is erratic at best (I work a late shirt, forcing me to run errands in the morning and early afternoon), but I would like to give it a shot.
Also, just out of curiousity, what are the demographics of the lunch bunch group?
I swear, sometimes I can’t understand how I get paid to write stuff…
PREVIEW IS MY FRIEND
PREVIEW IS MY FRIEND
PREVIEW IS MY FRIEND…
Be easy on yourself, friend. Unlike accidentally bolding your entire post, a typo like that is as easy to miss on preview as it was when you typed it. So don’t give yourself shirt shrift.
I think I may actually make this one. See y’all Friday!
I can’t believe I’ma gonna meet so many Dopers on the same day. And in DC, where I have yet to go. Friday’s gonna be a good day!
I can’t Get To Know Auggie unless we know who Auggie is. Last time I heard that name, it was in reference to a Doggie. I hope this Auggie isn’t a doggie, 'cause I’m allergic to doggies. They make me sneeze. Well, the big ones usually do, but the smaller, yippie ones not so much. They have hair instead of fur.
Jeez. I think I was just channelling Rue there. Sorry, Rue.
