Dealing with sleeplessness in the MMP

I don’t even know where did it end up, but a friend once gave me a (completely illegal of course) tape which always made me feel like I should apologize to David Bowie. The first song was some superlong, slow thing of his which did wonders for anything resembling insomnia.

I could use it now that old age has apparently decided to mess up with my sleep rythms.

I’ve celebrated the alignment of my being on this planet and more or less under my own power for 50 years, with St Pat’s, by having a honey-and-goatcheese flamenkuche and a glass of beer. Very nice beer and very nice combination, but since my tolerance for alcohol is below zero*, right now my permanent earworm is a single song and that one my parents liked when I was little. Very, very little. I have to say, the LP I have in my house sounds a lot less scratched.

  • I drink alcohol about once a year, rarely more than a fifth+ of beer, and never when I have to drive, walk more than 100 meters, or spend time with people I dislike.
  • that’s metric, of course. 200ml. Don’t give a shit how much it’s in weird units.

Are you using Michaelangelo’s Painting Co, or just going w/ a boring white? :stuck_out_tongue:

WooHoo! Fresh meat!
Ummm, I mean, “Welcome, Sir Monk

So we’re Flytrap free for the day? :o
Had NY Strip(per) steak for dinner last night; brought leftovers in for lunch, but forgot to bring the traveling steak knife in. The cheap-ass plastic knives we have here literally don’t cut it.

Dinner has been consumed; Amish noodles in garlic sauce. Not bad at all. Now for yet another romp through Da Jungle.

All the clothes are now in the closet where they reside. I even have ties, caps, and shoes organized and all neat. Wonder how long that will last.

Bumba we are Whiskypalians. We would never use a paper coaster. Why that’s right up there with eatin’ sallit with the fish fork!

We keep an extra blanket flipped back on the bed, so we can just grab it if we get to cold, without really having to wake up. It’s already arranged lengthwise, if you can picture that, down the side of the bed.

Poor Pooka Bear had a really rough night. He fell in the bathroom on the way to get some water, and could not get up. I was asleep, so it took me a few minutes to realize that the scrabbling noises were not him having a dream. He did it 3 more times during the night. :frowning: This morning he seems fine, so I’m wondering if it’s a combination of low light and leg weakness. Poor guy.

Thanks.

I’ve been feeling kinda depressed today because of the thumb tendinitis. Texted my conductor about it today, and asked if I could come to the rehearsal tomorrow anyway to help out, and he said yes.

Was feeling kind of low-energy today because of the depression. Had a mid-afternoon coffee to see if I could reanimate myself a bit.

As an aside, anyone else think the word “tendinitis” looks wrong? I want to spell it “tendonitis” because that has the word “tendon” in it.

I should go grocery shopping so I actually have food for supper.

I think it looks wrong, too. You’re right - it does have tendon in it!

Sushi for supper, strawberry cake for dessert.

**FCD **took the truck in for a check engine light - turns out we had a stuck thermostat and some broken wires. So there’s $500 or so we didn’t budget for. Dammit.

Evenin’ all.

Not heard anything more about the soggy people downstairs, so I’m feeling slightly guilty about showering and stuff in case it’s just running down their walls.
The NHS spells it tendonitis, my spellcheck disagrees. I know which I trust more for medical advice.

So… should we be singing Feliz Navadad?

I’ll get me coat.

It us Latin, so someone will say we are spelling it incorrectly however we do it.

Ixnay on the endinitisay.

Midget spell check sucketh mightily. Rest your hand now, and follow all recommendations. It’s not fun, but it prevents problems later. Do you have the option to visit a physical therapist and get some professional help on the tendonitis long-term?

I gotta try that next time I can’t sleep!

We have supped. It was good. Tummies are happy.

Spidey I opted for white ceilings. Frescoes are soooooo passé for home décor these days. :stuck_out_tongue:

*Midget I agree tendinitis looks wrong. However, you take care of yours, OK?

Take it easy on the wrist/thumb emily!

Fixin’ to play in teh studio and watch some NCIS. That is if a certain puppy will leave me rest from playing fetch. <3

Howdy all. Our new maid came today and did a great job. She is from somewhere in Yurp though hubby could not remember where exactly. Dang it, one must know these things. Anyway she will be coming every Wednesday.

I just finally got laid down. Home at 6. Bratwurst cooked in beer cause tis easy. Not much cleanup.

Tahred.

A little shopping and a hour or so coaching some 5-year old girls in soccer (they have so much fun but getting them all going in the right direction…).

Not motivated to fix anything at home so I let the King of the Burgers take care of the evening eats. Relaxation follows.

Dinner is grilled cheese samichs & a 16oz Bone Shaker because I like big cans…& it’s something for our Merging Mod.

Which is easier, herding small children or herding cats?

Canes blew a 3 goal lead with 10:00 left, Packers release Jordy Nelson, and worst of all, Stephen Hawkins has died.:frowning:

I guess this will be a sleepless night. Tossing and turning. Dammit. Wide awake in the middle of the night.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 41 Amurrkin out and clear (well, dark) with a predicted high of 59 and N.O.S. for the day. Highs will be back in the 70s by the weekend. Da cave remodel continues today. The measurin’ person from Home Despot will also show up to measure the floors. I need to go to the sto’ but that may or may not happen. Lots goin’ on! Tonight is soup 'n sammich over to the church house so that takes care of suppage.

Butters hope you were able to get some sleep.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, onward into the day!

Happy Hump Day Y’all!
