Dealing with sleeplessness in the MMP

Hugs Sunny and family. Very sad.

Hubby had leftovers and I have not decided what I shall have yet. Maybe a grilled cheese sammich.

That bridge collapse is sad too.

Mooooommm. I shall be aware of the cause if’n there is a disturbance in the force during that week.

Because this is the day for it, my husband’s gr-uncle died today. :frowning: He lived in Brownsville, Texas. My hubby will be with his dad, and we sent condolences and such over to the Texas folk. They are doing the same back our way. Here’s hoping the coming days are easier.

Thanks for the hugs everyone. {{{hugs}}} right back to you.

FCM, Is he getting Secret or Top Secret? When I got my Secret clearance (over 30 years ago) I can’t remember being interviewed. Just sent in the paperirk and about a month later I was cleared. Ah, the good old days…

Bumba, hope there is good news on the offer.

Got my rosters for the U10 Boys (8 players) and Girls (9 players), so seventeen names to learn. First practice with the boys is tomorrow. Also got the 34 girls 5-year olds divided into six teams and sent the info to the coaches, so it’s their problems now (lie: it’ll still be my problems).

Settled for soup-n-sammich for dinner, can’t wait to see how I break fast tomorrow morning…

Just looked at clock; bedtime! All y’all take care now.

Hugs to all who need or want them.

Did we solve this sleepless thing? :o

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 41 Amurrkin out and dark but TWPTB say clear, with a predicted high of 74 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Tomorrow’s high will be 77 and 80 on Sunday. Spring is back in south Jawja. Today’s big plans are to put the livin’ room back together and to head over to the church house this evenin’ to begin preparation for the big St. Pat’s feast tomorrow. We shall cook the corned beasts and prep stuff tonight. Tomorrow will be more prep and cookin’ of stuff. I gather we’re plannin’ of feedin’ around a hunnert and forty people tomorrow. I shall be a bzzy bear today!

{{{Sunny and Family}}} sorry about the double whammy hub’s family is takin’. All are in my thoughts and prayers.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then I suppose I should get started on the livin’ room. Really won’t be all that bad, just the thought of it is the worst part.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. Friday is my Firday for once.

{{{Sunny}}} - it’s never simple, is it? Good thoughts to you and your family. As to the sleeplessness, the answer seems to be keep trying stuff till something works.

I don’t know when I’ll be able to work today. Can’t access either of the 2 main programs needed to do my job. And that illustrates the problem with over-reliance on computers. They’re great, amazing tools, but when they fail, you’re screwed.

That’s what terrifies me about self-driving cars and even people-driven cars with all the warning buzzers - what happens when you get used to being buzzed when you drift out of your lane, then that sensor fails?? Or if you count on your car to stop in time, and it doesn’t? Just because it’s a computer, it’s not infallible!!

Sorry, gotta chill. There were too many Mondays this week. I’ve got a Dr appt at 2:10, and maybe I’ll have time to get my new glasses adjusted afterwards. Since the baby’s room is done, I’ve got to attack the kids’ room - it’s still a disaster. That and the usual weekend chores.

Happy Firday!!

Precipitation. I won’t trust self-driving cars until I see them competently be able to navigate in a snowstorm, when you can’t see any lane lines & it’s hard to make out where the curb is. Or even a deluge downpour when there’s water on the road but you can still (barely) see the lane lines, or can tell it’s not too deep by looking at the guardrail. Until then, pffft, they’re toys.

Damn. Missed it by one…

…or not, Swampy. :stuck_out_tongue:

Baby Engineer showed up and gave me a shortcut to bypass the server and get to the program I need. I am productive again! WOOHOO!!!

Blurfage Tis Firday which for me means just another day as I have to irk for a half day tomorrow.

I have found the two people I am going to hire so hopefully I can get them in here next week depending on how fast HR moves.

I would think that the computer has a lot of spare time to continually test sensors, and that distances are calculated with a factor of safety of at least two, but I wouldn’t trust the damn thing either.

Happy Firday!

It’s still cold outside and my spacebarisstill sticking.

I didn’t call the doctor yesterday to reschedule my appt but I’d better do it today.
My appt is for Toosday and it’s supposed to snow up here Toosday and Wednesday.
I don’t know how much we are supposed to get but I’d rather not have to worry about it.

I’ve been sleeping through the night lately, waking up at @6:30, which is a half hour before I need to get up but is acceptable.
Last night I had trouble falling asleep though.

Having consumed two BLT’s on rye, all is right in Rat World. Still need to sort out some soccer bags to distribute to the U6 coaches tomorrow and coach the boys’ team this afternoon, but nothing major on the schedule at home, so I will be browsing the internets some.

I can see the usefulness of self-driving cars in some situations, but the infrastructure around them needs to be better thought out before I’d get in one. YMMV.

Same from here.

Our weather continues cold and brisk and tomorrow I am teaching a hunter education class. Other than that Firday at irk and then home.

{{Sunny 'n Family}} {{Butters}}

Irked. It’s lovely weather today, proper spring-like, blue skies, wee burdies tweetin’ in the bushes. Lambs frolicking in the fields. So, of course, we have a 50% predicted chance of snow on Sunday. I am not impressed.

Snow is good for 'em. It toughens them up. :stuck_out_tongue: Lambs are really cute in snow too. Just have to find them.

FiL is awake today, and seems to be doing better. Talking to the family. Now I am asking so what is going on, and not getting much info, but I’m sure I’ll learn more. It’s a positive sign for sure.

Happy Firday everyone.

Howdy Y’all! I’ve been bzzy! The livin’ and dinin’ rooms are now, well, in a state of bein’ able to use. YAY! I need to be at the church house at six p.m. to prep stuff for tomorrow and then all day tomorrow. Sunday and Moanday I get to move stuff outta the kitchen cause that’s the room up next along with both bathrooms and the laundry room next week. Wallpaper will be stripped in all but the laundry room where there is no wallpaper and all rooms painted. I will be pricin’ tiles for the guest bathroom next week as I think I shall go ahead and put a biiiiiiiiiig walk-in shower in there rather than the current tub/shower combo. I have decided to go with pergo floorin’ throughout da cave except for the laundry room where I think tile will be the better choice. However, I may go with vinyl in the bathrooms. I need to make a decision there and stick with what I decide. Tough decisions when one has allocated several thousand dollars and must live with the end results.

That has been my day thus far.

ETA: Glad FIL seems to be doin’ better Sunny.
