So it appears Miguel has decided he really likes killing people. Somehow I don’t think Dexter will kill him but maybe that’s because I really like Jimmy Smits. I would like to see him around for another season. I don’t think Miguel killed the laywer either.
Will Anton live? I think he will but I don’t have any good reason for saying that.
I think we’re clearly headed down the path that requires Dexter to eliminate Miguel for Dexters own security - I can’t see Dexter allowing Miguel to be taken into custody - Miguel knows too much. He’s learning exactly what Harry’s rules meant - why he cant have friends - and why he cant let anyone know.
Anton will likely live - I’d hate to be the warden of whatever psych ward Deb gets sent to if he doesnt.
What a powerful episode! I held my breath through a lot of it.
When Miguel was challenging Dexter, you could see the wheels turning in Dexter’s head. I half expected him to say “Look dude, I’m the Bay Harbor Butcher – don’t talk to me about devotion to a mission.” It was like he really wanted to impress Miguel with his history, but deep down he’s still not sure.
I’m a bit upset that Deb didn’t go to Anton’s house sooner. But knowing Deb and her romantic history, I guess it makes sense to her that she was dumped, not that he was in danger.
Miguel’s gotta die. Dexter helped him pop his cherry. Now he has to stop him. I expect Dex will go to Ellen’s place, find her dead or about to be dead with Miguel still there. He could then kill Miguel and not even worry about disposing of his body.
But maybe not – Dexter doesn’t want anybody to know that he’s capable of killing someone, even if it’s justified. I don’t think anyone’s ever seen Dexter get physical. He’s just the mild-mannered forensics tech.
I have to say, there was a sigh of relief when Miguel plunged the knife into the guy. I was on the edge of my seat not knowing if he would kill the guy or if the feds would come through the plastic wrap to bust Dexter, now we know for sure where Miguel stands.
Also, there was too much Harry in this episode for me. I rolled my eyes the last time he showed up “Okay, what does Harry have to say about this” I said to myself. But that last time, he made a lot of sense, basically saying, look what you did, now you have to deal with it, I couldn’t.
They renewed the show for 2 more years so Dexter isn’t going to prison any time soon. Or if he does he will get out on bail or something else will happen so he’s not in jail.
I could see Miguel moving far away and Dexter not killing him but maybe that is just what I want to see happen.
I had a wonderfully convoluted idea. What if the lady lawyer (Ellen?) was the affair Miguel’s wife suspected him of, and he was trying to finesse Dexter into killing her to make sure she didn’t spill the beans about the affair? Then he goes to see her because he’s all charged up from the kill with Dexter and wants some nookie, someone (his wife?) follows him and kills her.
Eh, probably not, but it is a show that’s fun to speculate about.
Yes, that would be interesting but no way does he sleep with that lawyer , she does stuff he totally disagrees with.
I noticed that some shows use the previews to show you stuff that doesn’t really happen - the Sopranos did that. They lead you down a path that’s wrong. That’s why I think he won’t kill the lawyer.
That makes sense but I wonder why he would admit his crime so quickly?
Just like the preview giving the wrong idea, it’s pretty certain that the producers want us to think Miguel is going to end up dead. Maybe at the last minute Obi-Wan will show up and take him to Alderaan.
Naw, he’s gonna go there and find La Guerta (sp?) in Ellen’s bed. Then he won’t be able to kill her, but it will blow his mind. Am I the only one that’s picking up a lot of sexual tension between those women?
The second Deb couldn’t get Anton, I said “He’s dead”. I thought she should have gone over there a lot sooner too.
Yes, those ‘dream sequences’ can be very misleading when briefly hinted at in a trailer, the swines! If Miguel does kill the lawyer, that’ll be the end of the special relationship with him and Dexter, I think. Does anyone think Dexter would have been a fool not to secretly film Miguel carrying out his murder…for insurance purposes? I’m sure the shirt Miguel gave him wouldn’t be adequate enough evidence.
Miguel’s shirt + freebo’s blood == good evidence - that’s why Miguel gave it to Dexter… of course, defense attorney’s (even in real life) can get that kind of evidence thrown out (chain of evidence if nothing else - can’t prove miguel was wearing it, you planted it, etc).
I thought about Dex somehow recording the act for evidence, but, exactly HOW would that evidence come to life -
