Dexter: "I Had A Dream" - 12/7/08 OPEN SPOILERS

If she does not reveal the evidence against Miguel they will waste time looking for the killer of Ellen Wolf. Dexter might lead them to think he also killed Freebo which closes that case as well.

Perhaps Dexter decides to fake a suicide, rather than implicate “The Skinner”? I’m sure Dex would rather deal with “The Skinner” himself than leave him to the justice system.

A suicide where a guy strangles himself? Not realistic. Some local guy killed his girlfriend and he said she choked herself but the medical examiner said it’s not possible in most cases. You pass out before you can put enough pressure to die.

Didn’t the Skinner strangle some of his victims? I think the hooker girl and the informer kid were both strangled AND cut up. Seems like an ME would figure out that the cuts (if Dexter makes them) were made post-mortem where the Skinner did his while the victim was alive.

Couldn’t he make Miguel look like he hung himself? He’s been under enough strain recently to do something drastic like that, and after seeing his laptop, and finding out La Guerta was onto him…?

Judging by the preview, he’d have to make it look like Miguel hanged himself and then dumped his own dead body in an open field.

Also, who hangs themselves with a thin metal garrote?

I would expect Ellen Wolf’s ring to be found in Miguel’s pocket or nearby his body. If true that means LaGuerta can not say anything about what she found

Actually, I hadn’t seen the preview*. Is there no chance he could have just been cut down from a tree? Nothing around he could have been hanging from? If he’d used a clothes-line to hang himself, would that be radically different from a garrotte, when nobody is expecting one to have been used? Surely if a man of Miguels size had been swinging from a clothes-line all night, it would be hard to notice he’d already been strangled? Are the previews trustworthy enough for us to believe, or is it that apparent from what you’ve seen?

  • still haven’t.

I’m not sure why you seem to think that Dexter is going to try to make it look like a suicide; even a small-town medial examiner would be able to tell that Miguel was garrotted and not hung. I can’t think of any reason why Dexter would want or need to make it seem like a suicide anyway. The most efficient thing would be for Dexter to find a way to pin the murder on the Skinner, then make him “go away” in his usual fashion.

Anyone else starting to get the feeling that, since they have the go-ahead for the next few seasons already, they’re stretching the stories out longer?

But, as has already been mentioned, he cannot replicate “The Skinner’s” M.O. on Miguel’s dead body. And with all the stuff that has happened to Miguel lately, and realising he was becoming a suspect in the Ellen Wolf case, would it be that surprising for him to top himself?

I think 12 shows is just about right , that way you don’t get much filler at all. The only downside is the longer wait to get a new season. I had to wait 2 full years between Sopranos seasons (I think 4 and 5) so I guess 9 months for Dexter is not so bad.

Also, we never really got to the bottom of the whole Quinn being kind of a creep thing. There was alot of unrest about him at the beginning, was he a good guy trying to help the force (greater good and all that) or was he a bad cop letting the others do all the leg work and then stepping in at the last second and getting the praise (he did that twice I think)?
That whole thing just kinda disolved.

You’re right. Quinn didn’t try to take credit from Deb for figuring out the tree trimmer thing, or her brainstorm about the pay phone. At least not yet. I hope he reverts to jerkhood, because I like Anton better for Deb.

ivan astikov, Dexter can probably make Miguel look like a Skinner victim. All he has to do is take some skin off him. Since the Skinner is on the run, it won’t matter that he doesn’t use the same kind of knife as in the other killings. I think we can trust Dex to pin it on either Ramon or the Skinner.

In the preview, Miguel’s shirt is torn (or cut) at the shoulder. They’ll probably flip him over and find some skin missing.

I think it was Freebo’s house.

It was definitely Ellen’s house. I noticed the strange railing in the middle of the room and tons of law books on the shelves.

So much for the taser theory!

I know! So, if it wasn’t a taser, what was that silvery thing we saw at Dexter’s waistline when he was nabbed? I thought it was his cell phone but it was bigger than a cell phone. Maybe it was the nabber’s cell phone.

Definitely a bit of a fake-out there. Similar to Deb’s scary face – just a bird.

If it was meant to be the duct tape that was around Dexter’s wrists, whoever applied it - surely it had to be Quinn…Masuka couldn’t have done it alone, I don’t think - has had way too much experience than a cop should have.

Minor quibbles apart though, it looks like the final episode is gonna be fairly hectic. I’m almost wetting my keks in anticipation. Not very becoming, is it?

I finally got a chance to watch this last night and I want to get back to something mentioned in the OP, Dexter and the maid.

The DA is a high profile person and it must be known he is staying at the hotel. So when he turns up dead they are definitely going to question the cleaning staff. That cleaning lady, of course, will recall letting in someone else in and now the question is will she get a chance to ID Dexter. Will they play this aspect out or not?
