Just so you know, Jim arrived in Canada safely, and I promise to try my best to bring him back in time for the BBQ. And Grace, you were right about those eyes, to die for!!! 
It looks like we’ll have change the reason for the cookout to PurpleBear’s birthday or something.
After 2 blissfull days in Winnipeg, meeting Runadoc’s family, including Poysyn, and friends, a crisis occured and made it imposible for Runadoc to return with me. Try as we might to get around the situation, there was just no way for her to leave. I don’t know when we might try to reschedule a trip down here.
This is a real bummer for us and y’all won’t get to meet a very special lady, for a while at least.

I’m a dumbass. I thought it was last night. I had called Grace from SFO to see how long you’d all be there. I’m probably going to have to fly back out there this week, but plan on being back for sure on Saturday.
What a crappy weekend.

Well, I’ll be happy for her to show up on thursday the 28th; she could probably help with the last minute cleaning (or administer tranquilizers - I cooked supper for my family tonight and I’m still tense, I can just imagine how I’m going to be when I have a bunch of people over)

I realize you didn’t know I was in Memphis, but I still find it amusing that you were calling me in Memphis while you were out to town to ask me about a gathering in Dallas.
Well, dob’s not making this one, you guys. Familial gathering planned for this weekend, I’m going there. Maybe next time, I really do look forward to meeting y’all sometime. Be good, have fun, don’t do anything I wouldn’t do (yeah, right!)
I managed to reschedule my weekend trip, so I can attend after all. I’ll bring fresh bread and homemade honey butter for us to nibble on in the afternoon, mead and/or wine, and I’ll think on the prospects for another side dish or dessert–suggestions welcomed.
