I tend to play it safe and refer to Mrs. Chef as my “better half.” It doesn’t seem like that could get me into trouble.
Now Moxie, be reasonable. I said you had expressed no interest SO FAR. That was true, you hadn’t - probably because you hadn’t heard about it.
You are right. I hadn’t checked in because I figured Mtgman would express our interest. However, it seems our interests may differ.
Just to be fair to him though he wasn’t sure if we had plans or not, and wasn’t sure if I wanted to bring the kids- which I don’t. At least I think he wasn’t sure.
Oh, and calling me Moxie . . . . . I think I like it. It is very ummmmm apealing.
Well, then Moxie Moxie Moxie!
<font size=“1”>'cause, you know, I’m ALL about appealing to the ladies.</font>
Do as you please about the kids, of course - but from my standpoint they are utterly welcome. I’m sure Chef Jr. would love to have playmates for the evening so he doesn’t have to associate with all the boring grownups, and so what if they turn his room upside down and shake vigorously? That’s its natural state anyway.
Now you know why I don’t let her on the enter-net very often.
Hey, Chef, since the weather is so nice, maybe we should have an outdoor BBQ.

I waited til now to see what my schedule would be like.
Most unfortunatly, its looking like the project at work is going into overtime this weekend.
I hope you have a wonderful birthday!
Would love to be there, but I have an irreconcilable conflict, I’m afraid.
Okay - slight change in the dip lineup and a couple of eleventh-hour additions:
The part of “Cheffie’s queso” will be played by its understudy, “Crab Dip.”
Mrs. Chef will be doing a party platter of sliced fresh mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, fresh basil, and pesto.
Also, there will be meatballs in BBQ sauce for your carnivorous tendencies.
Oh, and remember what I said about refusing donations if offered? Forget all that. I don’t NEED donations, but I will accept them gratefully if offered. After a trip to the new Central Market on Greenville, I can see I’m going to have a major foodie monkey on my back.
Last day bump!
The deck and back yard will be available for anyone who wishes to go out there. <b><i>I</i></b will be inside, praising the name of Willis Havilland Carrier*.
Unless one of them fine Doper wimmen wants to go out to Chef Jr.‘s treehouse for a little smoochin’.
[sub]*For those who don’t recognize the name, Willis Havilland Carrier invented air conditioning.[/sub]
Sorry for the late notice, but I’ll be there. I wasn’t sure I’d be able to make it until today.
My note-taking may not be quite up to snuff–if you want to be certain of getting something in print, make sure to sit/stand to my right.
Sorry this is late, but yes- we also plan on attending. We will be “mostly childless”. See “all childless” means that they are without childs (or childrens), but “mostly childless” means that they will have one small child with them.
We probably will not be able to get there until sometime after 8:30. Hope that is ok. See you then.
My “Rats” comment earlier still stands…I would love to be there, but I am not going to be travelling for a bit. I saved some money for a sorely needed new deck on my house, but when I got the bid I found out I am a thousand bucks short. Who knew it would cost so much?
Budgeted travel expenses have now been officially re-routed to the deck fund. I say again, RATS!
And now I have a sick cat, too. Last time she had pancreatitis, it cost almost a thousand bucks too. Hopefully this time I caught it before she got sick enough to run up that kind of bill, but either way…in case you missed it, I am too poor to come.
Have fun! And everybody be sure to hug each other for me.
Dagnabit. I am so sorry that I missed out on this great party. And plenty of good munchies too, it seems. I hear it was a very good one. I would have loved to come up. (Yes, Cheffie, have party will travel is one of my mottos. )
Our son, luminousman, just finished his 4 wk field training out at Lackland AFB for his AFROTC on Friday, so I am spending this weekend with him. I’ll have to take him up to Austin on Monday, so he can get ready for his junior year at UT.
I am so sorry to hear about Kobii’s problems, Scotti. I know you will do the very best you can for her. I hope that you did catch it early enough for her sake and yours.
{{{{{{Ziactrice}}}}}} Sorry I missed your fun party
{{{{{{DFW dopers}}}}}} IRL hugs soon, promise
{{{{{{Scotti + Kobii}}}}}} get well soon, Kobii
What - nobody’s going to post an aftermath recap?

Hey! Where are the notes? I want the notes.
Dang it! I’ll start. I picked up Aglarond for the party and we ran some errands. We arrived on time. This is a very unusual thing and is probably not going to be repeated for some time. I brought the cake, which tasted okay, but it was too dry. DAMN! Cheffie had a fabulous dip spread/thingie laid out. I really liked the one that had the sun dried tomatoes. YUMMERS!
Mtgman and Moxmaiden brought a baby and she was a cutie. My little buddy, Sara, didn’t come so I forced myself (snort) to make do with the new little baby. Cheffie got to hold the baby and it was so cute. I can’t wait for the little Chefling to arrive so we can see him with his only little bitty baby. Chef Jr.'s getting too big to cuddle. I just scratch his head or ruffle his hair now.
A baby named Emily. (She has a name you know.)
Serra would have loved to come but Mommy wanted a little “mostly childless” time.
It was a great party, but where are the notes?
