DFW folks: A special b'day party is coming on the 22nd

There’s a joke in there, but I’m too much of a lady to say it.

I’m just glad you got it. Us straight men have a hard life if we don’t get someone to help us out.

Where’s Pete???

I’m bringing baked beans.
Mrs. Chef is bringing a cake, I think - is that right, Ziactrice?
Chef Jr. and Lil’ Miss Sous-Chef will be coming too.

Gee, screw up on the date and time 9 or 10 times and all of a sudden I have rep. Don’t worry, I’ll be there Sunday at 7:00.

Oh, and I’ll bring some chips and salsa.

I’ll bring some sort of finger food.

I’m bringing ME! I think I’ll also bring some crab muffins. They aren’t an Elvis dish, but they’re still pretty tasty.

I don’t see anything remotely healthy on the menu.

All right!! Sounds like we have a party.

The best I can tell, the attendees are:[ul][li]Grace, guest of honor, and hubby Aglarond[/li][li]Bad News Baboon and, I assume, Good News Gorilla[/li][li]Chef Troy and Mrs. Chef and a couple of smaller Chefs[/li][li]Mtgman and Moxmaiden and I don’t know how many little ones[/li][li]Adam Yax and Goliath[/li][li]Purrplebear, if she can make the trip from SA[/li][li]Ziactrice, our hostess[/li][li]Me, co-host and all around good guy[/ul]Maybe Pilot141 can pretend to be sick and make it.[/li]
Where’s Pete??

Check. She said a chocolate cake, too, I remember. Bad News Baboon mentioned somethin’ about another cake, but hey, two cakes, no waiting. We can always send the leftovers home with our Guest of Honor.

I’m making banana bread, by request of Same Illustrious Personage.

I’m so sorry for the late notice, but we won’t be able to make it.

Grace, I hope you have a magnificent 21st birthday!

Don’t be silly. I’m not 21. I’m 29.

Again. I liked it so much the first time around, I celebrated four (soon to be five) more times.

I’m sorry you can’t make it to the party, but we’ll just see you at the next one.

Aiee! This leaves us with but a single chocolate cake! Whatever shall we do?

Moxmaiden and I will bring a side dish(probably a mac and cheese casserole, something we can be sure the kids will eat) and some drinks. We’re going to bring the brood, all four of our expansion sets.

Also, last call for girl scout cookies if you want any. You can find descriptions of each type of cookie here. Latest word is that we don’t expect to have any at the end of the day Saturday(booth sale day) but we’ve got one of the early slots at the sale so there should be a decent stock we can pull doper orders out of. We have your order Grace.

Enjoy,
Steven

I’ll take a box of the Samoas.

Here is what I’m planning to make, so far. I like to cook, and this time it is at my house, so I can have lots of fun.

[ul]
[li]banana bread by request of Guest of Honor[/li][li]Mulled Cider with orange juice to spice it up (med crockpot)[/li][li]Mocha Coffee with lactose-free milk (lg crockpot)[/li][li]pastry snacksticks with cinnamon[/li][li]spinach and tarragon deviled eggs (if there is time)[/li][li]canapes featuring peant butter and different sorts of jellies - hopefully the kids will like 'em, too[/li][/ul]

Any other suggestions or possible changes someone would like to advise me about?

Tomorrow!

First of all, let me say thank you for offering to let a newbie attend the party - it sounds like it will be great fun!

Unfortunately, I will be on a three-day trip that starts tomorrow. I’ll be in wonderful Newark, NJ tomorrow night - sending you all happy Elvis thoughts.

At the least weather in NJ can’t be much worse than it’s been here the past couple of days. right?

Enjoy!

pilot141

But see, pilot141, it’s suppose to me 65 and sunny tomorrow. I bet NJ weather isn’t going to match that.

Sorry you can’t make it.

My co-host emailed me last night - he has accomplished all the provisioning, even the Special Item  , with Utter Perfection. Now, all I have to do is finish cleaning up my house, and a bit of light cooking.
See y’all at the party this afternoon/evening!
