Wow, Where do you get your excellent vocabulary? Anyway, how ironic, Patrick McGoohan died the exact same day and year. I saw him in Braveheart later that year in a film studies class I was taking.

To answer your question, she apparently did dump me because of that particular misunderstanding, since I didn’t show up when she arrived to meet me. But you’re right, time to put the past behind me.

I doubt very much that this was the only reason she dumped you (not to be mean or anything) - when someone wants to stay with someone else, they figure out a way to get past a misunderstanding like this. Hell, when I met my husband for the first time, he was in the restaurant and I was in the lounge, and it appeared that we were both late for that meeting. We somehow moved past what was indeed just a misunderstanding.

As you say, time to put the past behind you. I hope you’re dating someone now who communicates better with you.
