did mac_bolan00 get banned for being an anti-semite?

I think this is the same guy who sent me a message on another board about how I need to go ‘take a shower’ re: Israel and Jews. He said I was banned from the dope for “it” and I should shut up and etc.

I always wondered who that was, but reading through this thread and eyeballing his posting style, I’m thinking it was him.

If not, some other closet antiSemite on here that posts on another board as well.

Wow- that’s pretty nasty.

Folks,

Sorry if I upset anyone. That wasn’t my intent.

Sometimes I do a poor job expressing myself or my POV. That’s my fault, not the fault of the people reading my posts and not understanding what the hell I’m talking about.

I reason I started this thread was because I want to understand why people can get banned. I have no problem with **mac_bolan00 **being banned. I think banning him because he was a troll or a jerk are both good reasons.

I didn’t find his posts to be from an intelligent mind, and they seemed to be from someone fairly young. The more I read the zyklon-B comment, the more irritating and inflaming it became to me. That’s something a 15 year old would write, and I originally filed it away as such. But, in re-reading that post, there is no other way to interpret that. It IS hate speech. Case closed.

I think what makes me uncomfortable is banning someone for their beliefs, no matter how strange, bizarre, out of the mainstream, or just flat out wrong they happen to be. This board seems to attract a smarter than average poster, and posters like **mac_bolan00 **either get weary of posting with no reaction and go away, or getting the information he needs to set him straight.

My original question - was he banned for being an anti-semite - was asked because I don’t want to see anyone banned for being anti-anything. If someone can present themselves and their arguments coherently, fine by me. I don’t have to agree with them, but in many areas I only know what the media tells me (for example, say we had a white supremacist on the site). If they can post within the rules, I think they should be allowed to post. Let them post. Display their points of view. I think when people are permitted to do so, their ignorance shows through quickly, because they tend to post things they’ve been told, rhetoric that is not based in truth. Once that’s pointed out to them, they either stop posting (usually), get banned (sometimes) or change their minds (rarely, but possible). I’d like to think if one person could be given the facts on a particular subject, to stop a person’s irrational hatred toward another group, it is well worth the effort. That doesn’t mean people should feel obligated to bang their heads against a wall if someone is hopeless. Certain posters just want to get a rise. Others will never be convinced they are wrong.

I’m not sure **mac_bolan00 **was an anti-semite. I believe he was just trying to get a rise out of people on the board, and as a troll, he was pretty successful. But whatever he was, he did enough to lose his posting rights.

The mods can close this thread. My question has been answered.
