Ding, dong, the witch is dead.... (SURVIVOR SPOILER!)

Just caught the latest installment of Survivor. Jerri’s out, 5-2.

Hee hee heeeee.

Oh, crap, I just realized this is a spoiler for anyone who taped the show and hasn’t watched it yet. Could someone change the thread title to reflect that? Thanks. My apologies to anyone I’ve pissed off.

All I have to say is: Whoohoo!

Seriously, I think I almost cried, I was so happy. If Elisabeth had gone, I would have been heartbroken.

Okay, I seriously need to get a life…

Oh man! That was so great! Since Alicia was booted, I’ve been predicting that Jerri would be next. Over at the Yahoo Survivor game I even put all 100 points on Jerri so I got those plus 5 points for guessing that Nick would win Immunity.

Please tell me I wasn’t the only person who screamed when Jerri’s name was read a 4th and 5th time.

Ha, exactly the subject line I was thinking of, as the credits rolled.

Of course, this is America, where the Wicked Witch is not in fact dead, but gets to pontificate about her deadness on talk shows for weeks, if not months, afterward.

First question: so, Jerri, how’d you come by that sunny, optimistic view of your fellow man that served you in such good stead in the Outback?

I definitely let out a big wooo hooo when Jeff read her name. She knew it was coming though. Did you catch her “I surprise myself when I hear the things I say” speech and then went on to blame her bitchy behavior on the fact that she was cold, tired and hungry [sub]whine whimper[/sub].

And I gather from the Colby’s reaction to her little “just like a honeymoon without the sex” comparison that he didn’t share her feelings in that matter. She didn’t even try to include her tribemates in the outing at all. How hard would it have been to help pick up coral or shells? OR to even act like she wasn’t gloating about the whole thing. No class at all.

God I’m gonna miss bitching about her.

Ha! I recognized Colby’s scrunched up writing and did a happy dance. My son had to ask me what the heck I was yelling about.

In the words of Rodger, yeeeeehaaaaawwwwwwww!

Nooooooooooooooooo!

I haven’t watched it yet, dammit.

However, with Jerri gone, I feel strangely consoled.

She was nice to look at, though.

Keep your priorities straight, Moebius. Elisabeth and Amber are better eye candy, and we don’t also hate them.

This was a great episode! It’s become common to think of Colby as kind of dumb, but tonight showed us how dangerous that opinion is. The bit with the coral gifts was brilliant! Colby’s going to win this thing. Which means I get $150. Whoo-hoo indeed.

I checked the survivor website and it was 6-2 against Jerri. YES! (Incidently, what I yelled out when they stopped tallying the votes at 5-2).

Wow! I just watched this in Korea about 2 hours ago… and I thought I was a week or so behind you guys here!

I’m up to date for once! Woo Hoo!

I’m glad Jerri got voted out… but I hope she does a Playboy shoot! :stuck_out_tongue:

Bye, bitch! Don’t let the torch hit ya in the ass!

I loved the look on her face when Colby started handing out the coral. That alone was worth the price of admission!

I couldn’t believe she pulled Colby’s name after acting like a crusty crotch stain when they were deciding how to pair up.

Actually, did anyone else kind of have a suspicion that this would happen? During the show, they were very blatant about saying that Elisabeth would get voted out. Showing everyone talking about it, almost like it was a fact. Now know how the producers like to play the audiance, that made me start to think that maybe something else would happen. I was therefor elated, but not surprised when Jerri got the boot.

Damn, a million apologies, Moebius. You have my permission to give me a virtual kick in the pills. And thanks to the mods for adding the spoiler warning.

So… now that Jerri’s gone, it should be interesting to see how the tribal dynamic plays out next week. It looked like Ogakor was going to spend the next few weeks picking off Kucha one by one, but now I’m not so sure. Amber must be the loneliest person in the outback right now.

Man… I was so happy I started jumping up and down on my bed. My hopes really flew when they started playing up the Elisabeth angle, and showed Colby saying that they shouldn’t vote for Jerry. As we all know, whoever gets played up the most in the editing process never gets voted off. I think if Nick didn’t get immunity, then he would have been voted off. They like Elisabeth too much and decided that they’d rather have her than Jerry. Enough to break their alliance even. Go Elisabeth! She rocks!

Who wouldn’t want to have Elisabeth?!

Actually, any fan of survivor that missed but recorded last night’s show (like me) can still figure out what happened by the title thread. The (spoiler warning) doesn’t really help when the words before that are “Ding, dong, the witch is dead”. Oh well, I’ll still watch it.

I thought it was hilarious the way Colby was just throwing Jerri around like a sack of potatos during the obstacle course.

I, too, am psyched that Jerri is gone…but that was a pretty stupid move. Don’t they realize that with Jerri clearly in the “most hated” position, that they should have kept her around until the final two? That way, no matter who was up against her, the jury would vote against Jerri and the other person would win.

Like c_goat, I also got suspicious when they were playing up the Elisabeth angle. I started to hope for the best. I don’t even mind losing points on my Fantasy Outback game for picking Nick to go this week.

Everyone in the house let out a yell when Jerri’s name was announced.

Looking back, my theory is that it was a series of events that led to Jerri’s departure. Winning two reward challenges in a row allowed the group to not only build resentment against Jerri, but also to have some bonding time without her. Nick winning the immunity challenge left the former Ogakor tribe to pick between two people that they really, really liked. Also, I think that Keith knew that he would be the first one that Jerri would try to pick off once Kucha was gone. He definitely would have been in favour of getting rid of her before that happened. If they’d left it until later, there is always a small chance that she could pull a Kelly and start winning immunity.

I wonder if Keith, Tina and Colby will resume voting down tribal lines. If they do, will it just be to get rid of Nick? Will they get rid of Amber instead? Are they truly the Barramundi tribe now, with the old tribal alliances meaningless? And what are they going to make them do for some more rice? I don’t think that they were ever his hungry on Survivor I. They had more fish and rats on the first show. The current Survivor’s don’t seem to be living on much of anything right now.

And on preview, I see Sunshine’s post. They tried that with Richard on Survivor I. I don’t think that they wanted to risk a repeat. Plus, I think that Jerri was truly too difficult to live with, and since her scheming was so much more obvious than Richard’s, she came across as a danger.

I actually think Tina’s a great shot
