Diogenes, go take a nap

My point is (and you damn well know know it) you make absolutist statements and then play fast and loose with your bullshit when called on it.

I find it amusing at best and rather tedious at worst. It’s fun, which is the whole point of this board for me.

Please excuse me while I go pick some of the popcorn shells out of my teeth. Don’t you just hate it when they get in a place that you can almost get to with your tongue but just can’t reach? Drives me nuts.

Diogenes, you are just continuing to illustrate your basic problem! You cannot give it up with the “Am not!”, “Am too!” shit. Is this impossible for you to see? That you have continued throughout this entire Pit thread with the petulant school girl crap?

Seriously.

Can you not see what a parody of yourself you are becoming?

Oh, lots of kinds. International court illegal, national constitution illegal, crazy-ranting-guy-on-corner illegal…

What I was arguing was that carpet is not UN-feminine.

I posted this in post #195:
I find particularly funny that in the “Ask the crazy settler” thread he is happy to defer to the law because it matches his opinion (in his head) but here when it doesn’t match his opinion, it’s horseshit. Gold!

That comparison still fails to have any validity because I never made any assertion about the law as it pertains to whether infertility is a “disability/” If I had ever said it wasn’t the law, you’d have a point.

My humble apologies. When I read that, I thought “Surely somebody will pick up on that” and missed your post.

Your zing first and a good one it was.

Except that it’s a total fail.

But the classic Dio bullshit routine comes in when the person you are arguing against clearly said “feminine” in the sense of “something that women do and men don’t” and you refuse to recognize that and instead stick to a different definition of “feminine.”

Your custom title should be more like “Fighting to Stay at Cross Purposes.”

Some people were saying that pubic hair on a woman “wasn’t feminine.” A patently stupid and misogynist sentiment which is not made correct by the fact than men have pubic hair too.

Women have armpits, therefore armpits are not unfeminine.
Men also have armpits, but this is outside the scope of the discussion.

Dio, I just hope you are not a painter.

That is correct.

Ooh, attributing evil motives to those who don’t say something precisely the exact way you think it should be said. That’s nice.

Dio, you agree that women often shave their pubes whereas men don’t do it that often, correct? That’s all the post you originally responded to was saying. And then you brought the crazy.

I am disappointed in the SDMB. 6 pages of this crap?

What percent of those 6 pages has been “is too” “is not”?

Oh c’mon, admit it… you posted that in hopes of pushing it to 7 pages, didnja?

I feel sorry for your mother.

I enjoy just feeling yours.

The feminine thing is part of the reason we can’t take Dio to just be voicing his opinion. He won’t interpret others as just expressing their opinion. They have to be very careful. But he doesn’t. We have to know what he really means.

His real problem is that he has an unwillingness to accept multiple truth values, perhaps even a partial inabiliy. But he does do so, sometimes. He also finally admits that he knows that he’s doing it.

Here’s something that might get through: You know how, in religious circles, they talk about how, if you repent but don’t really change, you weren’t really sorry, and thus weren’t really forgiven? That’s what’s happening here. You get what you’re doing that annoys people, but you make no discernible effort to change. If you did, people would be happier with you.

And you did state that as a goal–to not have people dislike you.

Finally, I almost hate to do this, but have you ever been psychologically tested? The reason I can identify with you (and even get mad at you) is that you seem a lot like I used to before I got on medicine for my OCD. Or even like me in that one ATMB thread. My tolerance just grows thin after a bit.

You did point out once that marijuana made you more likable to your friends–perhaps you are too uptight in some form, and a little help from a therapist at least might help.

I think you’re overlooking the middle ground here, as usual. Both you AND Bryan Ekers are jerks.

Enjoy,
Steven
