I’ve been to 34, most of them for work-related trips. I’ve lived in two: San Jose (where I was born), and Chicago (where I’ve lived and worked for most of my life).
I’ve been to 17, and I’ve been to the airports in Atlanta, Houston, and Dallas/Fort Worth, but I didn’t count those. I’ve lived in Raleigh (where I went to college), and near but not technically in Charlotte (where I was born) and Sacramento (where I live now).
22/6 on the movie polls, solid all the way down to Anatomy of a Murder then skips Battleship Potemkin before picking up again.
I’m surprised Tampopo was so far down on the list. Itoman was one of my favorite directors and I was really sad/pissed off when he committed suicide over what some gossip rag reported. I own both of his movies that were big hits in the US, Tampopo and A Taxing Woman, both starring Nobuko Miyamoto, his wife.
I drove almost the entire length of I-40 when I moved from North Carolina to California, from Raleigh all the way to the western end in Barstow, CA, but since I didn’t start at the very beginning in Wilmington I was forced to vote “no” in my own poll.
I’ve driven the entire length of I-43 (from Beloit to Green Bay, in Wisconsin), and the entire length of I-88 (the one in Illinois, not the completely separate I-88 in upstate New York), from the Chicago suburbs to the Quad Cities.
Shortly after moving to Nashville, I visited my parent’s beach house in Topsail, so drove all the way across North Carolina on I-40. That’s a long drive. Next time, I think I’ll fly.
