Discussion thread for the "Polls only" thread (Part 1)

Frasier may be my top favorite sitcom of all time, consistently outstanding for eleven seasons.

Can’t say the same about MASH.

I guess our mileages vary.

mmm

I had strawberries, blueberries, grapes, and apple and orange slices at breakfast this morning. I ate the orange slice last.

I’ve never seen MASH. I think we started it once a long time ago but it was basically a bootlegged version we had to watch on our laptops. I haven’t seen many of the older shows in the poll, not with any sort of regularity that I could consider them favorites.

ETA: I just ate a fruit bar called That’s It. Its only ingredients are strawberries and apples. So I picked strawberries.

Some of you may be a Pepper but only John Green is the Pepper.

The last fruit I ate was a pluot, a plum/apricot hybrid. I guess I could have picked either plum or apricot, but it isn’t really either of those, it’s its own thing. So I had to go with “other”.

Most Americans of a certain age who watched All in the Family religiously (the only way to do it) are aware that the show was based on a UK sitcom - it said so right in the opening credits. But have any of you ever seen an episode of Till Death Do Us Part?

I have. It’s awful! Unfunny in ways you can’t imagine.

Why has nobody made a prune-flavored soda? I’d drink it.

I am not sure if I would drink a “prune” flavored soda. But I would definitely try a “plum” flavored soda.

I figured if anyone made a plum soda, it would be Jones Soda; unusual fruit flavors are kind of their thing. It doesn’t look like they do currently, but I am pretty sure they had a limited edition “sugar plum” flavor in their Christmas pack one year.

There are no plums in sugar plums.

In case anyone was wondering I had an apple this afternoon. Gala.

Generally not. Sometimes fruits were candied and dipped in sugar.

and your wish is my command- Amazon-

Sparkling Water Plum Flavor Can by SFC BIO, Soda - 11.83Fl oz (Pack of 3)

and

and Fanta Sour Plum

I have not tried any of these.

Yes, i was. Thanks.

I had strawberries in my porridge this morning.

Apple. Our friends gave an apple orchard nearby. We eat apples daily this time of year.

Yesterday, the most recent fruit I’d had when I voted was an apple.

This morning, breakfast involved both raisins and a banana.

I nearly always eat at least two different fruits a day; sometimes more. Which ones depends partly on the season, though in the winter at least some of it will be fruit out of the freezer, and sometimes dried fruits contribute. – if the poll had asked which of those fruits I’d had in the past year, over twenty of them would have been on the list.

I did but being at Burning Man I had no idea he was also there. I don’t keep track of all the tech-bros and movers & shakers moving among us like remoras. The only hikers I heard of by name were Chris Rock and some rapper.

That’s 2 more than i had. I just had banana in my porridge today !

Yeah, you being there makes sense that you wouldn’t know. It was fairly close to the immediate end of BM that I saw the Katyal clips on the teevee.

I have never been thrown out of an establishment, gently or otherwise. (I presume that “encouraged to leave because they’re closing, upon finding out which I promptly left” doesn’t count.)

I am however not under the delusion that such things can’t ever happen to “Civilized Folk”. So I can’t vote in that poll.

I’ve been (along with my friends) encouraged to leave a restaurant after we’d been there for 3-4 hours. We all had ordered a coffee and (cheap) entree. And after about an hour, we split 3 desserts between the 6 of us. But even lateish on a weeknight, the Denny’s wanted us gone rather than talking and drinking up all their coffee.

Since then? Nope, but I still voted yes, and if it had been part of the poll, would have had to select “with cause”.

Would a school classroom count as an “establishment”?

mmm
