I’d like to see all drivers retested periodically. I’d also like to see greater funding for public transportation so those who can no longer drive have more options.
The real stuff was a mercury compound. That is no longer a good idea.
Was it ever ?
Love all those jelly bean flavors.
I like all candy, and therefore all those jellybeans. I like some more than others, but I like all of them enough to eat them.
My kingdom for a “none of the above” jellybean option.
mmm
What happens in rural areas or sprawling suburbia?
I live in Michigan, and I like the idea of the road test law, but I would prefer if the minimum age was 80.
75 seems a bit too young to me. It’s probably going to result in most people passing their drivers test.
I’ll bet the failure rate is much higher at age 80. A lot of people will already be weeded out by their adult kids taking away the keys. So to use the smallest amount of resources for the greatest safety gains, I say 80.
That’s why I said I’d like to see a increase in funding for public transportation. Because those areas currently don’t have many options.
Ditto. At least for Brach’s jelly beans. Now Jelly Belly….
Didn’t kill me…yet.
Was it ever ?
Well, they didnt have triple antibiotic ointment back then.
A lot of people will already be weeded out by their adult kids taking away the keys.
This reads like someone who has never met a stubbornly, foolishly independent old person. I would LOVE it if the state took away dad’s keys, because I can’t convince him, can’t quite justify doing it forcibly, but think he and his fellow citizens would be safer if he gave up driving.
Yeah, I’m sure it varies from person to person. My grandfather will only drive locally now (he’s 86) of his own accord. My grandma (also 86) has macular degeneration and my Aunt had to explain to her what this means for her driving privileges, but she accepted it. Some old people are reasonable about recognizing when they need to stop, and that’s kind of what I meant. There are some folks who will stop on their own and some whose kids will talk them out of it. This law ideally would be to catch the stubborn holdouts.
My kingdom for a “none of the above” jellybean option.
mmm
I’m guessing jelly beans do NOT make you go “mmm”… ![]()
They don’t for me, either, note, thus I concur with your suggestion.
That’s why I said I’d like to see a increase in funding for public transportation. Because those areas currently don’t have many options.
You typoed an extra “m” in there.
Re: inert/adept; have you ever seen a gruntled employee? I've seen disgruntled ones, but not sure that I've ever seen one who's just gruntled
Liquorish?
Might have to get rid of capitalism for that; I can’t imagine a rural public transportation system will ever be profitable.
Like rural electricfication?
It certainly put Brockway, Ogdenville and North Haverbrook on the map.
