Anecdotally, I can tell you that Vietnamese and Chinese men like the blonde Pam Anderson types, but tend not to go for them seriously partially because of fear of rejection, but mostly because of family pressures (“Quang, why don’t you get yourself a good girl from the community?”). Vietnamese and Chinese women don’t have a “thing” for white guys over Asian guys as such - at least not on account of their “whiteness”, but they do have a preference for tall men, and that attracts them to a lot of white men. On the other hand, they also prefer tall, slim men, and that knocks out a lot of white guys from the equation. So, they like guys built like Olympic swimmers, and not the big, beefy meat-and-potatoes footballer type. If the tall guy is Asian, that’s fine too. Swimmers have Japanese girls fainting at the airport. Rugby players and wrestlers, not so much.
