I don’t much like people calling other people drooling idiots. But I also must be prepared to understand: there are drooling idiots out there. My limited experience in WB’s threads lend me little evidence one way or the other, and so I decline from justifying or slashing C.
However, the thread you linked to was, not coincidentally I’m sure, a pit thread where such things are meant to be said. I also noticed that there was a significant amount of posters who also disagreed with your assessment of what this message board is all about. Such as, “and if the SDMB were designed as a vehicle for your entertainment, we might give a rat’s ass,” or “if you want a “refreshing break”, stop posting on an internet message board and have a friggin’ V8.”
C’s remarks were a little harsh, and no doubt intended to be read at face value, I ain’t gonna disagree there. Their relative truth value is outside the scope of my involvement. I don’t think linking to pit threads is a good way to get a handle on how a poster actually is.
I have yet to find someone who consistently bugs the shit out of me to the extent I would need to say something like that here, but knowing full well that I have known people in my personal life that I would say something like that about, I must decline from bashing C back for it. I’ve only been here a few months. Anything can happen.
