Naaaah – I need a specialist. Dr. McGillicuddy — calling Dr. McGillicuddy.
Watching women’s sevens competition at the Olympics and trying to convince myself that in the heat and humidity I really want to trim the hedges. I may ------ but I ain’t gonna like it.
I just made a half batch of blackberry jam. I’d bought **FCD **a quart of blackberries the other day, but he doesn’t feel like eating much of anything. So I got a jar of pectin and jammed 'em! When he’s up for toast, he’ll get his berries.
big kitty, I’m sorry about your dad. Dementia is a bitch.
ruble, so you’re doing Amish Rudolph instead of Amish Santa this year?
Glad Daaaaad is home, Moooom.
The movers showed up at 7:15. However, they sent an extra guy while still charging for two and three hours later, the truck was unloaded. Three guys also meant that they came in under estimate.
I made a midnight run to Kroger for breakfast stuff, unpacked a skillet, spatula and the sheets, then hit the hay.
The AT&T guy was here this morning to hook up wifi and the kitchen is about 2/3 put away. W00t
!
Tis the season for them here, and they’re dripping off the bushes everywhere. I may go out pickin’ tomorrow, but the oven is currently borked, so I could do jam, but no cobbler or crumble.
Landlord’s still not back, and it’s nearly 8.30 pee emm. I wonder if they’re keeping him in.
**Nut **- I don’t know that I’ve seen them growing wild. I did try to grow some myself, but the soil here is atrocious, plus I don’t have much sun, thanks to lots of trees. So I bought them.
They don’t need much sun, actually. When they grow in sunny locations it’s always under the shadow of bigger trees. My favorite locations for blackberries are all quite shady, and in Costa Rica they’re grown up in those mountain areas in which the weather’s usual flavors are rainy, walking inside a cloud, and bloody scary storm.
Howdy Y’all! At da cave after a very looooooooong day. I’m all showered and tahrd! The Ordination service was excellent. Lots of folks there and a good number showed up from down at ol’ St. Pat’s which was great. The “reception” afterwards was a full blown N.O.L. Ham, fried chikin, green beans, English pea and asparagus casserole, N.O.T. sallit, cole slaw, assorted other sallits, rolls (homemade!), fruit, lemon squares, and chawklit squares that contained both dark and milk chawklit. YUM! Oh and iced tea and lemonade. There was also a table set up with champagne for the adulterated amongst us. So that and mowage of the back forty over to the church house have been achieved.
I have picked many blackberries in my time. I hated doin’ that. I also don’t like blackberries.
My friend Denise who was so sick with Pancreatic cancer finally went to heaven this morning. I am sad but more so relieved that her suffering is over. Every day is a gift.
It is so hot here. Hubby was home trying to rest and relax but it was not to be. He just got a call from a local restaurant that their A/C was not working so off he went. He had just put a chicken in the oven so I will go make the side dishes. I think I will boil up some little taters and something else.
Other than that I have been watching the Olympics.
All this talk about fruit, can ANYONE tell me why I can’t find anyone who has Concord grapes, in NE Kansas. I want to make grape pie but haven’t been able to for three years because I can’t find a source for the Concord.
Busy day at work, and one more 11 hour day tll vacation. Time to start packing. Making chipolte BBQ chciken with tequila rice and corn, black beans, and roasted jalapeño.

Dr. McGillicuddy’s apple pie plus Fireball=Warm Apple Pie. Awesome stuff.
Actually I plan on doing the kid Santa never talks about ---- that he fathered by one of the reindeer. You got to figure they named her Vixen for a reason.
Thanks for the hugs. I am so glad I finally got to meet her in person a little over a month ago. CANCER SUCKS!
I have invited her son to visit the Keys if he wants. We have access to a free place for him to stay and can show him around. I think a change of scenery will be good for him. He said to please remind him in a few days and he may just take us up on the offer. Her body is being donated to science for research. There will be a New Orleans style party to celebrate her life at a later date
I love blackberries. I have picked many in Jawja back in the day. I don’t buy them at the store cause they are expensive.
