Dope The Halls VI (Mid-Atlantic Dopers!)

Hey, I wasn’t the one who brought up Shwetty balls.

Oh, now she’s just trying to impress us by using technical terms like ‘enrobed.’

I am going to go make my salsa dip now. I just have to mix stuff together. I have to do it now, since I will be busy most of the day tomorrow, playing with fire and rescuing 175-pound dummies all morning. I have my written final in the afternoon, then a quick ride home from Aberdeen and a shower and then I shall be there, physically and mentally exhausted and in need of alcohol. Look for me around 4:00 or 5:00-ish.

I am NOT a dummy in need or rescue! You big bumface!

(good luck!)

No fire hat for you!

Don’t you just suck!

Okay, dip is made and I am going to go study for awhile.

You know, we should take a picture of a bunch of us in the cheesy plastic fire helmets before passing them out to the kids. That’d be a great way to commemorate Dope-The-Halls '06. I’d put one on my MySpace page. (Yes, I have a MySpace. I’m, like, so 18 and full of angst)

Goes along with your headgear!

:running the hell away:

Don’t you be dissin’ fire peeps!

Can’t make me stop! :stuck_out_tongue:

This is your last call for directions. My email is gingerofthenorth at hotmail.com.

We’re out of here in about ten minutes. I guess we’d better try to be on time, since until I get there, everyone has to eat out of the palms of their hands.

The veggie tray is being assembled as I type (obviously not by me)! We should be leaving here around 1PM, so barring a frick-up of massive proportions (not something that should be disregarded given our history with directions), we should be there between 2:30 and 3:00.

If you get lost, phone me. I’ll post the number in my LJ, and I think it’s also in the directions email.

Well, I managed to break my own glasses peacefully at a Dopefest. I took them off to give my nose and eyes a brief break, and twisted them a bit, as I am wont to do because of the flexible titanium frame, and the bridge just snapped. I’ve bent them a lot more than this before, but that little extra torque just broke the bridge. I have a glasses repair kit, but as it doesn’t include an extra bridge, it’s really not much help. I tried taping them up, but tape can’t get much of a purchase on what is essentially a thin metal wire, so that really didn’t work. With luck, I’ll have them repaired by an optometrist sometime soon, and in the meantime I guess I don’t have much choice but to go without; fortunately, I can more or less see fine without them, my eyes just get tired a little more easily.

That’s his story and he is sticking to it!

It was great seeing all y’all Dopers and Canadians there tonight. Jayjay and I had such a good time and managed not to break anything.

I had a great time. Wonderful food, sparkling conversation (“In your pants!”) and entertainment by way of a kid in a cooler.

Hope everyone made it home safe!

The kids and I had a great time. mudgirl slept all the way home! We got home about 9:30, then the hubby and I had a local party to attend, which is why I didn’t post last night.

It was great seeing and talking to everyone!

So far, all of my jewellery seems to be here. Jayjay, if I notice anything gone, I’m comin’ after YOU. :stuck_out_tongue:

Helen’s Eidolon got on the road around 11 this morning and my house is mostly back to normal after the up-before-6-am-oh-sure-let’s-play-Trivial-Pursuit-until-2:00-am.

Great to see you all.

Thanks Ginger and WeirdDave for hosting yet another wonderful December party.

Home safe and sound. Thanks again to Ginger, and I’m really glad I got to meet a whole new contingent of dopers.

… in my pants.
