Dope The Halls VIII (Mid-Atlantic Holiday Party)

PM sent!

I just wanted to remind you all that we are not providing beer. I don’t think we have soda (POP) around the house either, since we’re not drinkers of it. BYOB!

Butter tarts, Schwetty Balls, other nommy desserts; dinner and coffee. And my house will probably be untidy. Suck it up.

Well, that was incredibly rude. Was this comment necessary?

Forgetting rude for the moment, could some of you folks bring some beer and sodas?

What if I’ll bring some beer and some sodas but I’m rude about it?

Seriously, it’s not a problem for me to pick up some of each. Of course, with danceswithcats there, it won’t be enough, so others will have to bring more!

I’ll probably bring about 6 2L bottles of assorted soft drinks (or does anyone think 12oz cans would be better? I’m thinking with the 2L, you can get a more mixed assortment) and a couple of 12-packs of beer.

Whatever you like!

Oh, that wasn’t meant to be an insult to the mead. The smell of alcohol makes me want to throw up; thus, someone bringing alcohol makes me almost glad I won’t be there. I don’t like feeling nauseated, go figure. I believe Scuba_Ben is aware of my . . . sensitivity, for lack of a better word. If not, my apologies.

College must suck for you.

Sadly, thanks to a med adjustment and feeling like shit in general I’m not going to be up to making the drive down and back :frowning:

I’d even rented a car to make sure there wouldn’t be a repeat of the LAST time I couldn’t make it to a party…

OK, 2L bottles it is, then! I’ll probably pick up some juice boxes/pouches for the younger Pre-Doper contingent as well.

Bummer!

Less so now that I’m in a suite. Last year I left my room one Saturday night, and I could barely breathe because of the stench, but that was from the entire hall.

We, alas, will not be in attendance. My darling daughter brought home and shared 2nd grader germs. She is just getting over it. I’m just starting, which means I should be over it come Monday. :frowning:

I’m reallly sorry, but I can’t share Teh Sick. That wouldn’t be nice. And I’m nice, dammit.

We are still up in the air if all of us are coming or not. Both the little ones sleep right around 2-4:30, then go back to sleep around 8. The oldest might be able to stay up, and the youngest might sleep in the car. If not all of us I’m still hoping to show up for a bit.

We probably won’t be arriving until about 3PM (due to mudgirl’s Saturday morning bowling league) but I have obtained: one case of beer (Yuengling Variety Pack), six 2L bottles of soda, mostly diet, a couple of regulars, and a 10-pack of Minute Maid Fruit Punch juice boxes!

Meros and FCM: Poo. AND NO CAPTAIN STEVE!

WAAAAH!

They would be welcome to sack out in Jimmy’s room.

I expect to be shipping my teenager home with someone today.

I’m coming. I’ll bring something.

I have returned home safely. Thanks to both Weird Dave and Ginger of the North for their hospitality. Also it was a pleasure to see Scuba Dave and Wendell. I regret I am so bad with names.

It was also a pleasure to meet with the children and the civilians. (Can someone provide me with a contact e-mail with Jeffery from Saudi Arabia?)

It is wonderful to belong to a community like the Dopers.
