Hey Raleigh Dopers- if we’re going to get together around the second weekend in December for a little Zette fest, is anyone interested in seeing Star Wars Episode II, Attack of the Clones at the Raleigh Imax theater? I am unable to catch this in NY and it’s not playing any closer to Charlotte. I am definately going to see it if I’m driving all the way to Raleigh anyway, so does anyone want to join me?
So…has a decision been made about where and the time??
You know, for such an opinionated bunch of people, you are all oddly silent on making these decisions… 
Dinner is looking good for Sat the 30th of November, and I’m calling 7-7:30 ish as a start time.
As to the place…I have not personally gone to check out some of the excellant suggestions, so I need input. I would like to make reservations this week.
COME BACK TO THIS THREAD PEOPLE, just long enough to make dinner plans, and then yes, you will need to actually leave the snug and comfy surroundings of your lifes and come meet me for dinner.
I’m all kinds of in favor of Olive Garden – but puh-leeeeease get us into a reasonably secluded area – a side dining room or perhaps a corner area. Having a conversation in the main dining area of most Olive Gardens is somewhat easier than having one on the floor of a machine shop, but not a whole lot so.
Barb loves Tir nA Nog. We had one get together (Satan’s send off from Raleigh party) at Houlihan’s.
Jillian’s might be fun but strikes me as too frenetic for one of our get-togethers.
Houlihan’s was ok and they have these rooms that are set off from the rest of the area. I’m not sure how large a party they can accommodate though. Tir Na Nog was fun, but less intimate and hard to talk to people at the other end. I’ve never been to the Olive Garden in Raleigh so can’t say anything about them. 7-7:30 ish is fine with me. If I have Michelle with me, she can drive if I get sleepy…being the day person that I am.
The Olive Garden in Cary is a good place to meet. They have some big tables in the back area of the place that is pretty secluded.
Not gonna be able to make the November meeting because we are having our family Thanksgiving dinner the Sunday after, a very large family, and of course it’s at my house.
I really would like to make the one in December. Our company Christmas party is December 14th, but I’m not sure yet if I’ll be attending that. I don’t know where Jullians is so someone will have to give me directions coming in from US 1 North…
Saturday evening the 30th works for me, and other than seconding the general motion for somewhere with insufficient background noise to drown out conversation, I’ve got no restaurant preferences. As of now, I’m still planning to make the drive - it’s been too long since I’ve seen you folks.
November 30th is good,I could use a good fest.

I wish that I could make the Zettefest, but that’s the same night as the party being thrown by GingerOfTheNorth and weirddave. Given that that’s about 4 hours closer, I think I’ll opt for that one.
I don’t believe I’ll be able to make the 30th, it being Thanksgiving weekend and being with the family and all that; but I should hopefully be able to make the Zettefest.

I’m still planning on coming, but I haven’t had any luck in finding a hotel, and I’m not sure that it’s worth trying much harder at this point. I really hate to impose, but is there someone who could put me up from early Saturday afternoon till Sunday morning?

Sorry for the lack of response on this. We have stayed so busy with the Tygr cub and family, that we hadn’t talked about our schedule. Anyhoo, we are wanting to be there Saturday and will try. We will know more definitely later this week and will be in touch.
