Does anyone else going through these pictures get the vague impression that you’ve met half of these people before? I could swear I know mamakat from somewhere. :dubious:

Very weird. I was just having the exact same thought, also about mamakat…
Ya know, I think I must have “one of those” faces. About 75 percent of the strangers I meet tell me the same thing! Thanks for the compliment about the smile! That’s sweet. :o I think I could quickly get used to being an attention whore! Makes me all tingly!

Awesome pictures!! What weapon are you toting there?
The uniform’s very noice. Wonder if I can get one for my Captain, he’s got lovely calves you just want to nibble. (And by you, I mean me.)

Since Cervaise has gone ahead and made the joke I would have made, the rifle is the L85 A2, the current variant of the SA80 issued as an individual weapon to the British Army. It looks funny 'cause it’s got a cover over the sight (it’s fun to persuade recruits that you have to cover it in public because the sight itself, the SUSAT, is classified.) and fixed bayonet.
These pictures are from the Glasgow and Strathclyde UOTC 1[sup]st[/sup] year recruits’ pass out parade, after they’ve completed their first year of training. I’m older and boring and needed the money so I was in the honour guard. I’ll try and find some videos as the band is incredible; our pipe & drum band won the army competition for their class, and marching with them is immense.
