Early to Bed and Early to Rise MMP

{{{Mr. Frank and family}}}

Went to hear a new band that a couple of friends are in and then karaoke with the heathens last night. Got home ~2 ante meridian. I slept late.

After brunch dishes are done, it will be time to purtify and go to Staples for a CO2 cartridge. Then I’ll hit the road on the bike.

Oh, and I have two maters from the second planting that are getting red.

I have ordered and paid for 3 tons of pellets, to be delivered on a Friday - they’re supposed to call and tell me when. Then I stopped in Food Lion for a few items, and now I’m home. Last load in the washer, jerky in the smoker, and in a little bit, I’m going to make up the brine for the salmon that will be smoked tomorrow.

Then I get to bring in the laundry.

On the plus side, my tablet cover and microSD card were delivered today, so yay for that. Oh, and it’s HOT HOT HOT outside. ugh.

Howdy Y’all! I checked on Mr. Frank this mornin’. He was alert and talkative. He ate most of his brekkies which is a good thing cause one of the concerns from the nursin’ home is he hasn’t been eatin’ a lot as of late. We chose tonight’s dindin, tomorrow’s brekkie, and tomorrow’s dindin from the menu sheet provided. Plus he got to brush his teeth which is a big deal with him. After that I came back to da cave and took a nap. Since then I’ve had N.O.L. and snooped round teh intartoobz. Just didn’t feel like goin’ out to the cee-mint pond due to humidity and the fact that clouds are buildin’ up toward the west and southwest which is a big indicator of a storm brewin’.

Pouring rain here.
I think I’ll sit on the porch a bit anyway.

Wish we’d get rain, but according to the weather site, we *might *see some on Thursday…

All laundry is off the lines, folded, and put away. The load of whites are in the dryer because I don’t have the patience to hang out a gazillion pieces - in fact, I don’t know if I have enough clothespins for that! Jerky is smoking for another 2 hours, I think, and I still haven’t mixed up the brine for the salmon to be smoked. But it’ll soak overnight, so no rush.

**FCD **is napping. So are all the other critters in the house. Just me up and about. Good times…

I probably asked you last year if they are less expensive out of season, or if you are so damn nice that you don’t want the guys to have to deliver them in the cold.

The company we buy from offers a deal in the summer, and since we have the space, we take advantage of it. Or we will have the space when we clean that part of the garage.

Last of the laundry is folded and put away. I’m having some egg salad, and shortly, I will commence to wiggin’. It’s been a busy day!

Howdy Y’all! I went to the horsepistol to check on Mr. Frank. He was all over the place talkin’. First he told me I didn’t have to drive all the way down from Dawson to see him as that’s almost a fifty mile roundtrip. Ummm… I live all of six miles from the horsepistol. Then he told me that he knows when he leaves the horsepistol he’ll be goin’ to a nursin’ home (well, duh! you came to the horsepistol from the nursin’ home) and that he’s guessin’ Becky will be goin’ as well and hopes they get put in the same room. They share a room in the nursin’ home already. Then the conversation was all back to normal stuff. I know dementia is no laughin’ matter but it does make for some innerestin’ conversations.

swampy, stroke related dementia was something that we learned to roll with for the last 15 years of my mom’s life. You’re taking on the not-so-great aspects of adopted family says a lot about your character.

Met up with three friends and rode the long way to Sparta (in the foothills), then the winding part of US70 to the back route towards home. Stopped for some decent barbeque here in town (the barbeque was decent, but the cole slaw outstanding). Now to kick back.

It’s ungodly hot. Luckly Gordie only wanted a quick walk. After nappage, I’m making orange ginger chicken and rice for dinner.

Sunny, 8 hours with 2 kids and a 2 dogs?

Kennywood was terrific! It rained just enough to make the park mostly empty but not enough that they closed any good rides for long. Just what the doctor ordered.

Finally made it to my destination in California. I offered to let one of the kids ride on the roof once. I was mostly exaggerating for effect. Mostly. They were physically fighting while I was driving a mountain pass. I could mostly ignore that except one of them was in the front seat and the other one was trying to climb over it to get to them. :smack:

Anyhoo, we’re here. Pepper, her royal highness, is convinced the end is here. Her crate is in a whole. new. place. Apparently, this is not cool. She is whining at me right now. I am looking forward to when the neighbors get up. They both have new puppies (within the last year) and I can throw Pepper at them. :stuck_out_tongue:

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out and clear but hyooooooooooooomid with a predicted high of 90, mostly N.O.S. and a possible stray tstorm as usual. In a little while I shall purtify and go to the horsepistol to check on Mr. Frank before headin’ over to the church house where I shall be the non cannibal kind of Lector this mornin’. I told JDD I’d check on him early since I am an early riser. Mr. Frank will want to shave (gotta love electric razors in cases like this), brush his teeth, wash his face and comb his hair. I can assist with that no problem. After that I shall head over to the church house. Long John Silver’s shall make N.O.L. Tell me my life is not excitatin’!

Sunny glad y’all make it to Kalifornia without throwin’ one of the kids outta the car. Poor Pepper!

OK, I need more caffeine and then I shall purtify. I’m foreseein’ a McBrekkie this mornin’.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Look at this - barely after 6 and already I’m productive!!! I emptied the dishwasher!!! Go me!

The critters have been tended to and I’m caffeinating. We had rain overnight with lots of t-boomers, but the rain was just a nice, steady shower - I expect the bad stuff passed to the north based on the weather radar last night. We’ve got a 50% chance of rain today, which means I need to set up the smoker under the front porch roof when I do the salmon.

That’s really my only plan for the day - I got pretty much everything done yesterday. **FCD **will be working in his shop and I’ll probably add to my wig total. Good times, good times!

Happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday!

Looks to be a rainy day today.

I’m a bit grumpy.
Ok, more than a bit.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. We’re having the Booster Club picnic this afternoon(mostly indoors at the VFW).

Pepper barked until 4 am. She officially started her day at 6 am. I may hate her. blurf.

Up and caffeinating and that’s about it. Blurf!

OK. Pepper just licked my hand and collapsed into a heap. I may actually have a small crumb of affection for her.

Today there will not be enough coffee in the world…

My sister and I went to Ottawa yesterday. Good times.
