In a recent GD thread on “who is the funniest human alive,” Eddie Izzard’s name came up a lot, and I have to agree.
And wouldn’t you know, I got to see his live show last night. OHMYGOD it was hysterical.
Anway, this is just an FYI to anybody in NY, San Fran, or LA – Izzard’s on tour, and he’s coming to your city this month. Here’s the schedule:

If you’ve never seen him, go - Go - GO. You won’t be disappointed. The man’s a genius, flat-out brilliant. In his current show, “Circle,” he starts out talking about the Pope, then goes into a long, esoteric riff on evolution (including Jesus speaking dinosaur; hard to explain, but anyone who was there will fall down laughing at the reference), segues through physics to total silliness about spaniels with a detour through bashing Margaret Thatcher plus a whirlwind recap of the history of the universe with an indescribably goofy bonus spin on Star Wars, and who knows how much else I’ve plain forgotten. At least, that’s what he did for us; a fair amount of the material is ad-libbed. The man’s amazing, I tell you, amazing.
