Well, calm down. I’ve seen him live three times since “Dressed to Kill” - he’s fallen victim to Popular Comic Syndrome: now that he is loved and people expect to laugh, they do, way too readily. You can almost see the unfinished, jagged edges of his work…he gets the laugh he expects to get, so he doesn’t refine the way he used to.
Still amusing, but really not at the level of DTK, sadly. But hey, that was one of the greatest standup performances of all time, so maybe it’s too much to ask that he be that good ever again.

Surprise, surprise, not a single show near me. (Though I guess I’m closer to one of them than Kythereia, so there’s that…

Oh, lord, I hope that’s not the case. I just bought two tickets for my wife as a surprise birthday present, since he’s in Portland about a week after her birthday.
We bought the tickets to see him in July at the Palms here in Las Vegas. I am just so friggin’ excited, I have been waiting for almost 5 years for him to tour anywhere near here.

Now I will be just wishing my summer away waiting for July 26th. Same as I did with our Flogging Molly tickets that I bought back in November, and the concert was last Friday.

Oh, I wish he was coming here, too! We actually saw him here in Montreal during the Just for Laughs festival last year - he was great! I’d love to see him again!

So he performed in Portland last night, and I have to say…you’re wrong. My cheeks and ribs hurt from laughing so hard. Stripped is every bit as good as Dress to Kill. Next year, if he does two performances, I’m buying a ticket for each one, because I suspect the amount of improvised material will make it worth it.
Why, God, why did you make me fail to spot this thread until a month after the show?
