Ooohh, I love this guy! I’d never heard of him except for here on the boards, so I have all you lovely Dopers to thank for my latest obsession. (I guess I’m the naughty one of the bunch - I’ve already downloaded four full albums from Napster).
“And the squirrel’d keep makeup on one side, and nuts on the other. Sometimes I’d get up that tree and that squirrel would be COVERED in makeup! ‘La la la la… What? Fuck off!’ he seemed to say.”
“Exactly what mice plans is he talking about here? … He was off his trolley! ‘I see mice, they make plans, they plan to get cheese, they run, they scuttle - ooh! one’s fallen over, no cheese today!’”
“[James Bond] never came back and said, ‘Q, I’ve got a load o’ stoof I dedn’t fooking use. Fookin’ pintless it was! The watch that turned into a hamster, what was the pint o’ that? … And the jam trousers, was that yer idea?’”
http://www.amazon.co.uk has Dressed to Kill and Glorious videos available but they’re in PAL format which I don’t think is compatible with American VCR’s.
“they built stonehenge - which was the biggest henge in the world, no one has built a bigger one since . . . mainly cause no one knows what the fuck a henge is”
Gadarene, thanks for the link - I decided to order the longer version of “Dress to Kill,” and let my sister have my taped-from-HBO copy. I also bought “Glorious,” which I’ve seen before but not memorized yet
I couldn’t get tickets when Eddie was in Chicago earlier this year, but my best friend caught him in New York twice and got me a program (WHOO-HOO! A PROGRAM? You don’t say!). She got to meet him outside the show and said he was very cool, although she forgot to tell him that she’d never have heard of him if I hadn’t forced her to watch “Dress to Kill,” and that he should do another show in Chicago so I could see him live. That’s gratitude
