Election Day [Week][Month[s]] [Year] 2020 follow-along thread

The rightward lurch of the republican party over the last few decades:

The Democrats have stayed relatively still in terms of right-left politics over this time, while Republicans have careened towards outright fascism.

Biden is now up by 2 points in Florida.

Save a spot

I have a bad feeling about Florida. The results in now include early voting, and Biden isn’t outperforming Hillary’s numbers by any significant amount…not enough to cover the red shift of the same-day votes.

FWIW, Georgia exit polls have Independents going blue rather than red like they did four years ago.

It’s way too early to guess. What counties are those votes in from? How much from each of those? That has a lot to do with it.

He seems to be watching MSNBC, they have side by side comparisons. However must of the votes are early.

Mainly from all of us Dems in the DC 'burbs.

Yes, I am. And it is too early to freak out. My assumption is that early voting is reported first, and early voting skews blue – so any state or county that Biden doesn’t carry by a huge lead is at risk and I’m going crazy.

We shall see!

Everything I have read suggests that Pennsylvania is the key. I guess we’ll see.

I don’t care how good their sandwiches are. Cuban voters in Florida are dead to me.

NY Times is estimating an 88% chance of Trump taking Florida.

the counties I have seen are all going to go for Trump. But by how much?

Almost all early votes so far being reported in Florida. Biden is underperforming relative to Hillary’s numbers in Miami-Dade from 2016. However, he is way over performing in Broward compared to HRC in 2016. Still too early to know how it will play out.

Honestly, it looks as if turnout overall is down in Miami-Dade for some reason.

A bit soon to say.

Here is Google’s live election map. You can mouse over a state to see what the details are. Indiana still has a long way to go. That said it is no surprise at all if they go Trump and it was expected.

Honestly I would not put a lot of stock in any results until at least tomorrow morning or afternoon. All those mail in votes need counting too (some states are ahead of the game on that…not all though).

Yikes! Florida is making me nervous. Time for the drinking to begin.

With 58% of the total in, AP has five the six major metro areas (Jax, Orlando, Tampa, Miami, Tallahassee) going for Biden.

Cheers! :beers:

Biden seems to be running behind Clinton’s 2016 numbers in Miami. That has me worried.
