As one born in Chicago, I am personally insulted that Trump would consider either Detroit or Philly to be more corrupt than my native city. Who does that asshole think he is? Even my friends in Jersey are upset at this diss.
Fox News is saying they need to see the evidence to evaluate claims of voter fraud, in particular the list of 3,000 people that Mr. Trump alleges fraudulently voted in Nevada. They’re throwing a lot of skepticism, noting that Trump is pretty much on his own here.
Mark my words: this was an historic event. A candidate for the presidency of the United States of America and the sitting president has, for the first time in living memory - if not ever - willfully and brazenly disregarded the will of the American people. Make np mistake about it: Donald Trump just called for a coup.
Whether this goes down in history as the hilarious temper tantrum of a failed madman, or the first step towards the death of American democracy, is entirely up to Trump’s supporters (who I have no doubt will follow him across the Rubicon) and his enablers in government (who, so far, have kept silent, content to let Trump wither away).
Even if Trump is abandoned, I worry for the future. A Trump successor could use the narrative that Trump had won, but had the election stolen from him not just by the democrats, the MSM in their pocket, and their fraud but also by a stab in the back from the GOP establishment. Could a narrative like this propell a Trump successor and his supporters to win control of the GOP? I worry that the base, which we now see is much larger than previously believed, will go for whoever offers exactly that narrative. It’s also a terrifyingly toxic narrative.
The obese turtle lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over, but it can’t. Not without your help. But you’re not helping. Why is that?
Get a nice socially-distanced inauguration, and it’ll still outnumber him… But drop the camera angle down and it’ll really look great for needling purposes.
